Short answer: there are two different Exness logins. To enter the Personal Area (PA) you use your registered email address and your PA password (or Google sign-in where it is offered). To enter MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 you use your trading account number, the trading password and the account server shown in the PA. Mixing the two up is the most common reason an Exness login fails.
This guide covers both logins step by step, then the fixes for the usual problems: forgotten passwords, "Authorization failed", 2-step verification codes that do not arrive, and a new phone. All steps come from the Exness Help Center, checked in October 2026.

Which Exness login do you need?
| What you want to do | Where you log in | Username | Password |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit, withdraw, open accounts, verify your profile | Personal Area (website) | Your registered email address | PA password |
| Trade on MT4 or MT5 (desktop, web, mobile) | MetaTrader platform | Trading account number (login) | Trading password, plus the account server |
| Trade in the browser or on the phone with Exness's own tools | Exness Terminal / Exness Trade app | Your PA email | PA password |

Exness Personal Area login, step by step
- Open the official Exness website and choose Sign in. Check that the address in your browser is the Exness domain before you type anything.
- Enter your registered email address as the username. Exness says not to enter a trading account number or your name here.
- Enter your PA password. Passwords are case-sensitive, so check Caps Lock and stray spaces.
- Confirm the login if you are asked to. Depending on your security type this is a code by email or SMS, a push notification in the Exness Trade app, or a code from an authentication app.
- You land in the Personal Area, where Trading > Accounts lists your trading accounts.
If you registered with Sign in with Google (available in some regions), use the same Google button to log in. If you see "Email is already connected to an account" when registering, that email already has a Personal Area, possibly created through Google. Reset the password instead of registering again.
Exness MT5 login (and MT4)
The MetaTrader login does not use your email.
- Log in to the Personal Area and go to Trading > Accounts.
- Expand your trading account card. The MT4/MT5 login number and the server are shown on it. These two values are fixed and cannot be changed.
- Open MetaTrader and choose File > Login to Trade Account (desktop) or add an existing account (mobile).
- Enter the login number, the trading password you set for that account, and select the exact server from the card.
- An MT5-based account only works in MT5 and an MT4-based account only works in MT4. Using the wrong platform makes the login fail.
If you have not installed the platform yet, see our Exness MT5 download guide or the MT4 guide. You can log in on several devices with the same trading account.
Note: Exness says Exness trading accounts (as opposed to MT4/MT5 accounts) do not need a separate trading password.
Forgot your Exness password
The fix depends on which password you forgot.
Personal Area password
- You can still log in: Profile > Security > Login details > Change next to Password. Enter the new password twice.
- You cannot log in: on the login page choose I forgot my password, enter your registered email, click Continue, confirm the action with your security type, then create a new password.
PA password rules from the Help Center: 8 to 15 characters, upper and lower case letters, and a mix of numbers and English letters. A captcha may appear; repeated wrong captcha entries can freeze the reset page for 24 hours, so enter it carefully.
Trading password (MT4/MT5)
Old trading passwords cannot be viewed, only replaced. In the PA go to Trading > Accounts, click the three-dot icon next to the account, choose Trading password and set a new one. It must differ from the read-only access password.
Read-only (investor) password
Same menu: three-dot icon > Set read-only access. It lets someone view the account without trading.

Exness login problems and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| PA will not accept my login | Wrong username (using account number or name) | Use the registered email address |
| PA login fails with the right password | Cached data in the browser | Clear cache and cookies, or try another browser |
| "Email is already connected to an account" | You already registered, maybe via Google | Reset the password for that email |
| MT5 says "Authorization failed" or "Invalid account" | Wrong account number, trading password or server | Re-copy all three from the PA; reset the trading password if unsure |
| MT5 says "No connection" | Connectivity or firewall | Click the connection bar and choose Rescan servers; allow the terminal through your firewall; restart the router |
| Cannot log in to the PA at all | PA was terminated earlier | Terminated PAs cannot be recovered or reused with the same email; register with an unused email |

2-step verification and security types
Exness calls its second factor a security type. It is used to confirm actions such as restoring a password, changing the trading password and withdrawing funds. The four options are:
- Email (default): codes sent to your registered email.
- SMS: codes sent to your registered mobile number.
- Authentication app: a time-based code from an app such as Google Authenticator. The email registered in the app must match your Exness email.
- Push notifications: approvals in the Exness Trade app, which Exness recommends for ease of use. Notifications arrive only on the device where push was activated.
To change it: Profile > Security > Change under 2-step Verification.
Lost your phone or authenticator
If you cannot reach your current security type you have two routes: a face scan inside the PA (needs a verified email, phone and proof of identity) or video chat verification through a ticket in the support hub. Either one resets the security type to email, and withdrawals are disabled for 24 hours afterwards. Plan around that if you need to withdraw.

Keep your Exness login safe
- Never share a verification code, even with someone who says they are from Exness support. Exness warns about OTP and verification-code scams.
- Use a unique password you have not used elsewhere.
- Prefer push notifications or an authentication app over SMS if your region allows it.
- Install the app only from official stores. See our Exness app guide.
- If you see logins you do not recognise: check Profile > Security, change your PA and trading passwords, then use Log out from other devices and open a support ticket.
After you log in: first things to do
- Complete your profile and verification. Verification lifts deposit limits.
- Practise on a demo account before using real money.
- Choose an account type that fits your size and strategy.
- Learn the stop out and margin call levels before you use leverage.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the username for Exness login?
For the Personal Area it is your registered email address. For MetaTrader 4 or 5 it is your trading account number (the MT4/MT5 login shown on the account card in the PA).
Why does my Exness MT5 login say "Authorization failed"?
Usually the account number, trading password or server is wrong, or you are using an MT4 account in MT5 (or the reverse). Copy the number and server from the Personal Area and reset the trading password if needed.
How do I reset my Exness password?
On the login page choose "I forgot my password", enter your email, confirm with your security type and set a new one. To reset a trading password, use the three-dot menu on the account in Trading > Accounts.
Can I change my Exness MT5 login number or server?
No. The Help Center says MT4/MT5 login and server values are fixed. You can only change the trading password, or open a new trading account.
I did not receive my Exness verification code. What now?
Check the active security type in Profile > Security, then spam folders (email), signal (SMS) or notification settings and the right device (push). If you lost access to the phone or app, use face scan or video chat verification, remembering the 24-hour withdrawal pause.
Can I use the same Exness login on several devices?
Yes. Exness says you can log in to the same Personal Area, and to the same trading account, from multiple devices.
Can I log in with Google?
In some regions you can register and sign in with Google. If the option is not shown on the sign-in page, use email and password.
Is my Exness login the same as my MT5 login?
No. The Personal Area uses email and PA password; MT5 uses the trading account number, trading password and server.
