Short answer: Exness and FBS are both offshore-style retail brokers popular in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and both offer MT4 and MT5. FBS advertises a very low starting deposit (from USD 5), leverage up to 1:3000 and a 20% stop out. Exness has a 0% stop out on most accounts, a richer set of account types (including commission accounts) and, unlike FBS, no deposit bonuses. Neither is automatically better: pick FBS if you want the lowest entry ticket and are comfortable with a bonus-driven environment; pick Exness if you prefer a no-bonus model with commission-free and raw-spread options.

Exness figures come from the Exness Help Center. FBS figures come from fbs.com (trading conditions, deposits pages) as checked on October 27, 2026. FBS lists "from" and "up to" numbers; actual conditions depend on the FBS entity serving your country, so check them before depositing.

Regulation and which company serves you

For both brokers, the licence that matters is the one held by the company named in your client agreement. A group list of regulators does not cover every client.

  • Exness: operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See our Exness regulation guide.
  • FBS: states that it operates under multiple local FBS licences. We did not verify the individual licences or which entity serves each country. Look at the client agreement and the legal documents on fbs.com, then check the regulator's own register.

Spreads and costs

On paper FBS's "from 0.7 pips" is wider than Exness's "from 0.2 pips" on Standard, but both are minimums on floating spreads and neither says what you will actually pay. Real costs depend on the pair, time of day and news. The fair way to compare is to open a demo on both and record the EUR/USD and XAU/USD spread at the same times. Read our Exness fees and spreads guide and the spread list.

If you scalp, Exness's Raw Spread and Zero accounts (from 0 pips plus commission) are designed for it; FBS advertises a commission-free structure, so you will need to see whether its spread suits your style. See Raw Spread and Zero.

Stop out and margin call

This is where the two differ most.

  • FBS: margin call at 40% and stop out at 20%. Positions are closed while 20% margin level remains.
  • Exness: stop out at 0% for most clients, with margin call at 60% or 30%, and Kenya/Jordan clients at 20%.

A lower stop out gives trades more room, but it also means equity can be almost fully used before closure. Neither setting replaces a stop loss. See our stop out guide.

Leverage

FBS advertises leverage up to 1:3000 on Forex. Exness offers 1:2000 by default (equity under USD 5,000), with Unlimited leverage if conditions are met, and 1:1000 and 1:500 for higher equity tiers. Both are extremely high compared with regulated retail limits in many countries. Leverage is not the same as advantage: it amplifies losses as well as gains. See Exness leverage.

Bonuses

Exness: no bonuses. FBS: we did not verify its current promotions; check its official site, because availability depends on country and entity and bonus conditions can restrict withdrawals. If you take a bonus anywhere, read the withdrawal conditions first. More on Exness in our Exness bonus guide.

Deposits and withdrawals

  • FBS: advertises 200+ payment methods, instant withdrawals "available", and zero FBS commission on payments. Third-party providers may charge.
  • Exness: says it charges no processing fees on deposits and withdrawals, though providers and banks may; withdrawals can be requested 24/7 and over 98% are processed automatically. Speed depends on the method. See deposit and withdrawal and withdrawal time.

Both require verification and payments in your own name.

Platforms and tools

Both support MetaTrader 4 and 5 on desktop, web and mobile, plus a proprietary app. Exness adds Exness Terminal. FBS has an in-house app with deposits, withdrawals and trading. See our MT5 download guide.

Account types

Exness has Standard Cent, Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. FBS markets a simpler lineup; check fbs.com for the account list in your country. See Exness account types.

Which should you choose?

Choose Exness if you:

  • want commission or raw-spread accounts as well as spread-only accounts
  • prefer a broker with no bonus structure attached to your deposit
  • want to submit withdrawal requests 24/7 (withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method)
  • live in Kenya and want to see how the Exness (KE) Limited terms differ

Choose FBS if you:

  • want the smallest possible first deposit (FBS advertises USD 5)
  • want a higher advertised leverage ceiling on Forex
  • like in-app education and a community-driven environment (check what FBS offers in your country)

Test both on demo accounts before depositing real funds. Use our Exness demo guide.
