Short answer: OctaFX has rebranded as Octa, and its old octafx.com address now shows a "website no longer active" notice when we checked on October 27, 2026. Octa's current site advertises no trading commissions, 260+ instruments and its own OctaTrader and Octa Global apps. Exness offers more account types, including commission-based raw-spread accounts, and says it has no bonuses. We could not verify Octa's detailed spreads, stop out or licences, so this page compares what we can confirm and tells you what to check yourself before choosing.
Important: the broker you can use depends on your country. Octa operates through several regional websites, and a website that works in one country may not be the right one for another. Use only the official site your country is directed to, and check the legal entity in the client agreement.

What happened to OctaFX?
OctaFX, a broker that was widely marketed to traders in Asia and Africa, now presents itself as Octa ("Octa: the leading broker for online trading"). The old domain octafx.com displayed a notice saying the website is no longer active and that the broker's services are available through other official websites and apps. Its current international site is octabroker.com, which links to country-specific domains. If you search "OctaFX login" or "OctaFX bonus," you may land on copycat sites, so be careful and confirm the domain through Octa's official channels. Also note that a different company runs octa.com, which is a tablet-accessory shop and not the broker.

Regulation: how to check
We could not verify which licences Octa lists on its country sites, so we do not state them here. For Octa, or any broker:
- Find the legal entity name in the client agreement for your country.
- Search that exact name on the regulator's public register.
- Check the regulator is a real financial authority and that the licence covers the services given to you.
- Be cautious if the only regulator is in an offshore jurisdiction, or if the entity in your agreement differs from the one in the footer.
For Exness, the company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area; check it on Exness's regulation page and on the regulator's own register. Exness says there is no government-backed compensation fund for its clients. See our Exness regulation guide.
Costs
Exness lets you choose between spread-only accounts and raw-spread accounts with a commission. Octa advertises no trading commissions, which usually means the cost is in the spread, but we have no verified Octa spreads to quote. To compare fairly, open a demo or small live account on each broker and record the EUR/USD and XAU/USD spread at the same times of day, including a news release. Our Exness fees guide and spread list explain how to read the numbers.
Platforms
Exness supports MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, its web Exness Terminal and the Exness Trade app. Octa promotes its own OctaTrader platform and Octa Global app with AI trading support and a trading feed. If you rely on Expert Advisors or MetaTrader-only tools, confirm that your Octa entity offers MT4 or MT5. See our Exness MT5 guide and Exness app guide.
Bonuses and promotions
Exness says it does not offer any welcome, deposit or trading bonus; see the Exness bonus guide for what exists instead (Exness Rewards for selected clients and partner rebates). We could not verify Octa's current promotions; check its official site for your country. Whatever the offer, read the withdrawal conditions and trading-volume requirements, and do not accept a bonus you do not understand.
Deposits and withdrawals
Exness says it charges no processing fees on deposits and withdrawals, accepts withdrawal requests 24/7 and processes over 98% automatically, with timing set by the payment method. Octa advertises "secure deposits and withdrawals". Payment methods differ by country for both brokers, and both expect payments in your own name. See our Exness deposit and withdrawal guide.
Which should you choose?
Exness may suit you if you:
- want to choose between spread-only and raw-spread/commission accounts
- trade with MT4 or MT5 and EAs
- prefer a broker with no bonus conditions on your deposit
- want a 0% stop out (20% in Kenya) and Negative Balance Protection
Octa may suit you if you:
- like an app-first, all-in-one environment with community ideas and market analysis
- prefer a commission-free headline structure
- have confirmed that Octa operates legitimately in your country and that your entity is regulated
Before choosing either, check the entity, test spreads on demo, and read the stop out and withdrawal terms. See the Exness demo account guide and Exness review.
