Short answer: Exness says its entities do not offer services to residents of Europe, so a person living in Europe should not expect to open an Exness account. The footer does not list individual countries under "Europe", so if you live in a European country the registration form is the only check we can point to. Whichever broker you consider, European retail CFD trading has its own protections, and you can check a firm on the national regulator and ESMA registers.

Sources: the Exness Help Center article "Can I verify an Exness account from a foreign country?" (updated September 29, 2026); the footer wording published on the Exness Kenya site (exness.ke), because exness.com blocked our automated access; ESMA's published product intervention measures; the ESMA registers page. All checked November 7, 2026. We did not try to register from a European country.
Is Exness available in Europe?
The footer names Europe among the jurisdictions whose residents Exness entities do not serve, together with the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, the United Kingdom, Russia and Belarus, "and others". It does not say which countries it counts as Europe, and we found no Exness list that does. We therefore make no claim about a specific European country other than what the registration form shows, and nothing here covers countries that Exness lists separately.
The Help Center says Exness decides by where you permanently and lawfully live (Help Center). A European citizen who permanently and lawfully lives in a country Exness serves can be verified with identity and address documents; a person living in the restricted area cannot. We do not suggest using another country's address, and false residence details can get an account blocked.
"Restrictions for my country (Europe)"
For residents of the restricted area the restriction is complete. It is not a lower leverage cap or a missing payment method. If the registration form does not accept your country, you will not get an account, and nothing we publish changes that.
EU rules for retail CFD trading
Brokers that serve EU retail clients operate under European rules. ESMA adopted final product intervention measures on CFDs under Article 40 of MiFIR in a press release dated June 1, 2018, applying from August 1, 2018 (ESMA). They set:
| Item | ESMA 2018 measure |
|---|---|
| Major currency pairs | Leverage up to 30:1 |
| Non-major pairs, gold, major indices | Up to 20:1 |
| Commodities other than gold, non-major indices | Up to 10:1 |
| Individual shares | Up to 5:1 |
| Cryptocurrencies | Up to 2:1 |
| Margin close-out | Positions closed at 50% of minimum required margin, applied per account |
| Negative balance protection | A guaranteed limit on retail client losses, applied per account |
| Incentives | Restricted |
We could not confirm from the sources we read how these measures apply in 2026, because they were first temporary and national authorities now apply their own measures. Check your national authority's current rules before relying on the numbers.
How to check a broker in Europe
- Find the firm's full legal name and the country of its regulator in the client agreement.
- Search the ESMA registers, which compile firms authorised by national regulators, and the national register itself, for example the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) or Germany's BaFin. ESMA notes that some national data is only on national registers.
- Check the permissions: does the firm hold the right to offer CFDs to retail clients?
- Compare the website domain with the one on the register, and check the regulator's warning list for clones.
What residents usually look for
Look for a firm authorised in the EU or EEA with permission to offer the product, a clear investor-compensation and complaint route in the contract, and the leverage and negative-balance rules above. We do not name brokers here; a register check on the day you decide is better than any list.
Scam warnings
- Offers that say they can open an "EU Exness account" or "verify" you for a fee.
- "Recovery" services that promise to get lost money back for an advance payment.
- Clone websites that copy a regulator's logo or a licence number. Verify on the regulator's own site, not via a link from the firm.
- Requests for passwords, one-time codes or remote access. Exness tells clients never to share verification codes (OTP scams) and says its support does not use Telegram or Messenger for support chats (Official communication channels).
