Is Exness Available in the USA? What US Residents Should Know

Short answer: No. Exness says its entities do not offer services to residents of the USA. The Exness registration form also asks you to confirm that you are not a citizen or resident of the United States. If you live in the USA, the useful question is not how to join Exness but how to check that a forex broker is allowed to deal with you, and the CFTC and NFA give you free tools for that.

Sources: the Exness Help Center articles "Registering an Exness account" (updated September 19, 2026) and "Can I verify an Exness account from a foreign country?" (updated September 29, 2026); the footer wording published on the Exness Kenya site (exness.ke), because exness.com blocked our automated access; the NFA and CFTC websites. All checked November 7, 2026. We did not try to register from the USA.

Is Exness available in the USA?

The Exness footer says its entities do not offer services to residents of certain jurisdictions, including the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the United Kingdom, Russia, Belarus "and others". The USA is named, so the answer for a US resident is no.

The Help Center explains how the decision is made: it looks at where you permanently and lawfully live, not only at your passport. It says it does not accept nationals of countries it does not serve who live in another country it does not serve, and gives "an American citizen living in the UK" as an example (Help Center). It does accept nationals of a non-served country who permanently and lawfully live somewhere Exness does serve, if they can prove it with identity and address documents.

Do not try to get around this by using another country's address or someone else's account. Exness treats false residence information as a verification failure, and it can lead to a frozen account.

"Does Exness have any product or service restrictions for my country (USA)?"

This is the title of a Help Center-style question many people type. For the USA the restriction is complete: Exness does not provide services to residents. It is not a limit on one product such as leverage or a payment method.

How to check a forex broker in the USA

US rules for retail off-exchange forex are set at federal level. According to the CFTC and the NFA, a retail forex dealer must be registered with the CFTC and be an NFA member, unless it qualifies for an exemption. You can check this yourself:

  1. Open the NFA BASIC database and search the firm's legal name or its NFA ID.
  2. Read its registration category and its disciplinary history.
  3. If the firm does not appear, the CFTC advises asking it why before sending money (CFTC: Be Smart, Check Registration).
  4. For securities (stocks, not forex), FINRA BrokerCheck is the equivalent, as BASIC itself points out.

Registration does not guarantee that a firm is a good fit or that you will not lose money. The CFTC says most forex fraud is run by unregistered dealers and individuals, which is why the check comes first.

What US residents usually look for instead

Retail forex in the USA is offered by firms the CFTC and NFA oversee. We do not name or rank them here, because that depends on your needs and on a current register check that only you can do. Questions worth asking any firm:

  • Which legal entity holds my account, and where can I see it on the NFA register?
  • How is customer money held, and what happens if the firm fails?
  • What does it charge in spread, commission and overnight financing, and is there a minimum balance?

Scam warnings

Because Exness is a well-known name, imitators exist. Be careful if you meet any of these:

  • A website, Telegram chat or social account that says it can open a "US Exness account" for you.
  • A person who offers to open an account in their own name, or asks you to hide where you live.
  • Promises of fixed returns, "managed" accounts or signals for a fee.
  • Requests for your password, a one-time code or remote access to your device. Exness tells clients never to share verification codes (OTP scams) and says its support does not use Telegram or Messenger for support chats (Official communication channels).

If you have already paid someone, you can report it to the CFTC or the FTC, and you should tell your bank.

Frequently asked questions

Can an American citizen open an Exness account?

A person living in the USA cannot. For US citizens living abroad, Exness looks at permanent, lawful residence, but its registration form also asks you to confirm you are not a US citizen, so this is a question for Exness support and depends on your situation. Do not give false details on the form.

Can I use a VPN to register?

We do not recommend that and give no instructions for it. Exness verifies your real address, and breaking the residence rules can end with a blocked account.

Is Exness regulated in the USA?

We found no sign that Exness holds US registration. You can search it yourself on NFA BASIC.
