Exness Cambodia: USD Accounts, Minimum Deposit and Legal Status

Short answer: In Cambodia, where US dollars circulate alongside the riel (KHR), a USD account is the natural fit, and Exness offers USD for every main account type. The riel is not on Exness's list of account currencies, and Khmer is not among its support languages (English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu). Cambodia is not named in Exness's footer list of countries it does not serve, so the registration form is the final check. Cambodia's securities regulator has a record of acting against unlicensed forex and derivatives firms.

Why USD fits Cambodia

Many bank accounts and prices in Cambodia are in US dollars, with the riel used mainly for small payments. For a trader that has a practical effect: a USD trading account avoids one conversion, and the dollar is the quote currency of gold (XAUUSD) and most major pairs.

The currency cannot be changed after opening, and conversions apply when a deposit or withdrawal is in a different currency from the account. If you fund from a riel account, the bank sets the exchange rate, and the spread between buy and sell is a cost.

Does Exness accept clients from Cambodia?

Exness's footer names the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus "and others". Cambodia is not named, so the registration form is the final test. Exness asks for a proof of identity from an official authority and a proof of address dated within six months, showing permanent residence in the country you register from. Many people in Cambodia rent without a utility bill in their own name; a bank statement or a bank reference letter issued in Cambodia can serve if it carries your full name and address. Legal position of offshore forex in Cambodia

The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SECC) supervises securities and derivatives, and the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) supervises banks and payments. From what we could find:

• In 2011 the SECC banned derivatives trading by unlicensed firms, naming five companies, and reaffirmed the ban that year after gold prices rose. It said it had not yet licensed derivatives firms because its rules were unfinished.
• Reports from around 2012 and 2013 said that only a handful of licences had been issued while unlicensed firms advertised forex and metals trading.
• In 2016 the SECC set up a 21-member task force on illegal securities activity, with a public hotline.
• We found no current SECC or NBC text that licenses Exness, and we did not find a current statement on online forex for individuals. These reports are old, so check the SECC website.
