Exness Zimbabwe: Is It Legal? ZiG, USD Deposits, Sign-Up

Short answer: You can register an Exness account with Zimbabwe as your country if the form shows service is offered, and a demo account is free. Exness has no ZiG (Zimbabwe Gold) account: the Help Center account currency list has USD, EUR, GBP, ZAR and others but not ZiG, so Zimbabwean traders normally open a USD account. Exness is an offshore broker from the point of view of Zimbabwe's Securities and Exchange Commission (SECZ), so check the SECZ and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe before you send money.

Sources: the Exness Help Center (account currencies, swap-free status, registration, verification, contact), checked October 29, 2026; press reports on the introduction of ZiG in April 2024. We did not open a Zimbabwean account, did not test any deposit and could not run a search of the SECZ register.

Does Exness work in Zimbabwe?

Exness does not publish a country list, so the registration form is the test. Enter your email, choose Zimbabwe as your country of residence and see whether service is offered. If it is, you can open a Personal Area, a demo account and, after verification, a live account.

Acceptance depends on where you permanently and lawfully live, not only on nationality. A Zimbabwean who lives in another country that Exness serves can register there if their documents show that residence, and a Zimbabwean resident registers from Zimbabwe. The registered country cannot be changed later. We do not suggest registering from a country where you do not live.

ZiG, USD and account currency

Zimbabwe introduced ZiG in April 2024, and US dollars are also used in many everyday transactions. Exness's list of account currencies for Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts does not include ZiG. What to do:

  • Choose USD if you want results that match gold and most pairs, which are quoted against the dollar. ZAR is listed too, but it adds a second conversion.
  • Conversion happens at the payment step. If you pay in a different currency, the bank or wallet converts at its own rate. The currency you deposit in is the one used on withdrawal.
  • Account currency cannot be changed after you create the account.
  • Check the rules on moving foreign currency. The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) publishes exchange control rules and rates at rbz.co.zw. Confirm with your bank what applies to payments abroad.

Deposits and mobile money in Zimbabwe

Wallets such as EcoCash and OneMoney are widely used in Zimbabwe, but whether any is offered by Exness for your region is not published. Open the Deposit tab in your Personal Area to see the methods for your registered region with their limits, fees and processing times.

Whatever you use:

  • The wallet or bank account must be in your own full name; Exness does not accept third-party payments.
  • Your bank or wallet operator may add its own charges.
  • Methods can be temporarily unavailable during provider maintenance.
  • Verification lifts deposit limits.

See deposit and withdrawal methods and withdrawal time. Withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method.

Minimum deposit for Zimbabwe

Account typeFirst-deposit rule
Standard Cent and StandardLow; depends on payment method and country
Pro, Raw Spread, ZeroAt least USD 200 in some regions

Later deposits only need to meet the payment method's minimum. The balance you actually need is set by lot size and margin: a tiny balance with a large position can be closed out quickly. Standard accounts have margin call at 60% and stop out at 0% (stop out guide). See the minimum deposit guide.

How to open an Exness account from Zimbabwe

  1. Register with your email, choose Zimbabwe as your country and set a password.
  2. Practise on a demo account with virtual funds (demo account guide).
  3. Verify. Upload a government ID (national ID or passport) and proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement (verification guide).
  4. Create a live account. Choose the type, platform (MT4, MT5 or Exness Trade) and currency (account types).
  5. Deposit from an account in your own name, starting small.
  6. Install the platform (app guide) and set a stop-loss on each trade.

Short factual notes:

  • The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ) registers securities market participants (seczim.co.zw). The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) supervises banks and foreign exchange.
  • We could not run a search of the SECZ register, so we make no claim on whether Exness appears. Search the exact entity name from your client agreement and read SECZ public notices.
  • Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See Exness regulation.

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) is the tax authority. Ask a local tax adviser how trading income is treated and keep records of deposits, withdrawals and trades.

Swap, leverage and risk

Zimbabwe is not on the list of 33 countries assigned swap-free status automatically. Swap-free applies by default on eligible instruments, and an overnight administrative fee may apply on some (Islamic account guide). Maximum leverage depends on your equity and the entity serving you (leverage guide). Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains; plan position size around a stop-loss (risk management).
