Short answer: Moroccan residents can register for Exness online, and Morocco is on Exness's list of 33 swap-free countries, so swap does not apply to any instrument on your accounts. The points specific to Morocco are money and law. Moroccan foreign-exchange rules are enforced by the Office des Changes, which affects how dirhams can be sent abroad, and we found no Exness licence from the AMMC, the capital-markets regulator. Read both sections below before depositing, and start on the free demo.

Is Exness legal in Morocco?
Two Moroccan bodies matter:
- AMMC (Autorité Marocaine du Marché des Capitaux) regulates the Moroccan capital market. Check its site for authorised firms and for investor warnings about unauthorised ones.
- Office des Changes enforces foreign-exchange regulations, including rules on transferring dirhams abroad and on the use of local cards for foreign payments.
We found no Exness authorisation from the AMMC, and we found no official text that creates a licence route for offshore retail forex brokers or names Exness. In practice:
- Exness is not supervised in Morocco, so there is no Moroccan authority to complain to.
- Whether a transfer abroad for trading is allowed for you is a question for your bank and the Office des Changes.
- Exness does not say which of its entities contracts with Moroccan residents; your client agreement names it. See Exness regulation.
This is general information, not legal advice.
Dirham deposits: what to ask before you pay
Moroccans who trade offshore usually think first of three routes: a Moroccan bank card with an international limit, a bank transfer abroad, or an e-wallet or crypto route. Which of these Exness offers to you appears only in your Deposit tab, because it depends on your registered region, verification status and the provider. Some points to check:
- Card limits. Moroccan bank cards generally have an annual allowance for foreign-currency payments. Ask your bank what yours is and whether trading-related payments count.
- Name on the account. Exness accepts payments only from accounts in your own name.
- Conversion. Your account is probably in USD, so dirhams are converted at the bank or provider's rate. Compare the rate with the market rate.
An illustrative example, with USD 1 = MAD 10 (not a live rate):
| Item | USD | MAD |
|---|---|---|
| Pro, Raw Spread or Zero minimum (at least USD 200, depending on region) | 200 | 2,000 |
| A first deposit of MAD 5,000 | 500 | 5,000 |
| A 1.5% bank conversion margin on MAD 5,000 | 7.5 | 75 |
| Risk of 2% on a USD 500 account per trade | 10 | 100 |
Withdrawals usually return to the method you used to deposit, and the time to reach your account depends on the method. See Exness payments and withdrawal time.
Swap-free trading for Moroccan clients
Morocco is on the Exness Help Center's list of swap-free countries. Swap-free status is assigned automatically to the whole Personal Area, so every account type you hold has zero swap on all instruments, and you do not apply for a separate Islamic account. Exness says an overnight administrative fee may apply on some instruments. To check: Personal Area, Exness benefits, Trading conditions, Swap-Free. More in Exness swap-free and Islamic account guide.
Language and support
Exness lists 24/7 support in English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu; French is not on that list. Arabic speakers can write in Arabic through the support hub in the Personal Area, and tickets are answered within 24 hours according to Exness. Learning English trading terms (spread, lot, margin, stop loss) helps when you read platform screens.
Moroccan market hours
Morocco is on UTC+1 for most of the year and moves to UTC+0 during Ramadan, so the offset to London time changes. Roughly, in Moroccan time during the usual UTC+1 period:
| Session | Moroccan time (UTC+1) |
|---|---|
| Tokyo | from about 01:00 |
| London | about 08:00 to 09:00 |
| New York | about 13:00 to 14:00 |
| London and New York overlap | early afternoon to about 17:00 |
During Ramadan, when Morocco is on UTC+0, subtract an hour from these times. Always compare your local clock with the platform's server time before scheduling a trade around news. The market closes on weekends. See Exness trading hours.
Accounts, leverage and platforms
Exness lists Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts. A cent account can suit very small balances; compare it in the Cent account guide and the general account types guide. For a 0.01-lot EURUSD position (a notional value of about USD 1,100 at an illustrative price near 1.10), the margin at 1:500 is roughly USD 2.20 and at 1:2000 roughly USD 0.55; check the trading calculator for the real number. Default leverage is 1:2000 to 4,999.99 USD equity (leverage). Platforms: MT4, MT5, Exness Terminal and the Exness Trade app (download guide).
Demo account for Morocco
Registration adds a Standard MT5 demo account with a default USD 10,000 virtual balance, and you can reset it. Standard Cent has no demo. Use it to practise the order window and to test how a dirham-sized risk, say MAD 100 per trade, translates into lot size. Steps: Exness demo account.
How to open an account
- Register with email and password and make the US-resident declaration.
- Choose Morocco as your country of residence; the registered region cannot be changed later.
- Verify with your CIN or passport and proof of address. See verification.
- Open a demo and then a live account.
- Deposit from an account in your own name.
Tax is administered by the Direction Générale des Impôts (DGI). Keep records and ask a Moroccan tax adviser how trading income is treated.

Trading during Ramadan and around Moroccan hours
Because Morocco shifts to UTC+0 during Ramadan, the gap with the platform's server time can change twice a year. Check the server time shown in MT5's Market Watch rather than assuming the offset. Many Moroccan traders who fast prefer to trade after iftar, which falls in the evening and overlaps the New York session. That is a personal scheduling choice; the key is not to trade tired. Use stop-loss orders, so an open position does not depend on you watching the screen.
Risk table in dirhams
Using the illustrative MAD 10 per USD:
| Account size | 1% risk | 2% risk |
|---|---|---|
| MAD 2,000 (USD 200) | MAD 20 | MAD 40 |
| MAD 5,000 (USD 500) | MAD 50 | MAD 100 |
| MAD 10,000 (USD 1,000) | MAD 100 | MAD 200 |
The point of the table is that a small account has very little room: with a stop loss 20 pips away, a MAD 20 risk limits you to roughly the 0.01-lot minimum on many pairs. Trading more than that to "make it worthwhile" is the most common way small accounts fail.
Scams targeting Moroccan traders
Moroccan Telegram and Facebook groups often advertise "account management" or guaranteed returns. The AMMC publishes warnings about unauthorised firms on its website, and you should read them before sending money anywhere. Never give anyone your Exness login, and never deposit to a personal bank account or a Moroccan mobile-money number in place of the Deposit tab. Anything that promises a fixed profit is a warning sign.
Withdrawing back to Morocco
Withdrawals normally go back to the payment method used for the deposit, within the limits of that provider. Remember that money you bring back is converted from USD at your bank's or provider's rate and may be subject to Moroccan reporting rules, so ask your bank in advance. Keep records of the deposit and withdrawal amounts and dates for your own accounts and for any tax enquiry.
Checklist before your first dirham leaves Morocco
- Ask your bank in writing which foreign-currency payments your card or account allows, and whether there is an annual limit.
- Open the demo and the Personal Area first, and look at the Deposit tab for your registered region before deciding anything.
- Complete verification with your CIN or passport and a recent address document; limits stay low until it is done (verification guide).
- Start with the amount you can afford to lose in full, not the maximum your bank allows.
- Test a withdrawal early with a small amount, to see the time and any fee for your method.
- Keep monthly statements from both your bank and Exness for your own records.
