Exness Indonesia: Is It Legal, Rupiah Deposits and Demo (2026)

Short answer: Registration from Indonesia appears to be possible (the sign-up form decides), and Indonesia is one of the 33 countries where Exness applies swap-free status to every instrument automatically. What Indonesia does not have is a Bappebti licence for Exness: Bappebti, the futures-trading supervisor, has blocked websites of unlicensed foreign brokers, and Exness-named domains have appeared among them. So the practical answers are: yes, you can register and trade; no, you will not have Indonesian regulatory protection; and you should try the free demo account before you put in rupiah.

This page is based on the Exness Help Center (checked October 27, 2026) and Bappebti's public material. We did not open an Indonesian account ourselves, and Exness does not publish a country-by-country price list, so figures that depend on your region are described rather than invented.

Commodity futures and forex derivatives in Indonesia are supervised by Bappebti (Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi), under the Ministry of Trade. Licensed brokers are listed on bappebti.go.id. Exness is not on that list as far as we could find.

What that means in practice:

  • No Indonesian licence. Exness does not hold a Bappebti licence, so a dispute would not go through an Indonesian regulator.
  • Blocked websites. In a press release dated February 2, 2022, the Ministry of Trade reported that Bappebti had blocked 1,222 websites for unlicensed commodity futures trading, including introducing-broker sites of foreign brokers. Exness-named domains have appeared in Bappebti's blocked lists, so some Exness web addresses may not open on Indonesian networks.
  • OJK. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) publishes investor alerts at ojk.go.id. Search there for any broker you plan to use.
  • Your risk. Exness does not say publicly which of its entities contracts with Indonesian residents. The client agreement in your Personal Area names the company and its regulator. Our Exness regulation guide shows how to read it.

For the wider picture, including how to compare brokers that hold a Bappebti licence, see Forex brokers in Indonesia. We cannot give legal advice; if the legal position matters for you, ask an Indonesian lawyer.

Funding Exness from rupiah: a worked example

Exness accounts are normally opened in USD or another currency offered in your Personal Area, and the rupiah you pay is converted along the way. Use an illustrative rate of USD 1 = IDR 16,000 (not a live rate; check your bank's rate on the day).

ItemIn USDIn rupiah at 16,000
Minimum for a Pro, Raw Spread or Zero account (at least USD 200, depending on region)2003,200,000
A 1% conversion margin charged by your bank232,000
A 0.01-lot EURUSD move of 10 pips (about USD 1)116,000

Two points follow from the arithmetic. First, the conversion margin is a cost on top of trading costs, so compare the rate offered by your bank or the payment provider. Second, the minimum for Standard and Standard Cent is lower and depends on the payment method and region; see Exness minimum deposit.

Payment methods Indonesian traders look for

Indonesians commonly pay by bank transfer, with banks such as BCA, Mandiri and BNI, through e-wallets such as GoPay, OVO and DANA, or by card. Whether Exness offers any of these to you is shown only in the Deposit tab after you register, because the list depends on your registered region, verification status and the provider's availability. Do not send money to a person or a "local agent" who offers to deposit for you; Exness accepts payments only from accounts in your own name, and verification lifts deposit limits. See Exness payments and withdrawal time.

Swap-free trading in Indonesia

Indonesia is on Exness's Help Center list of swap-free countries (with Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and others). Clients registered from Indonesia get swap-free status on the whole Personal Area, with zero swap on all instruments, and you do not need to request a separate Islamic account. Exness says an overnight administrative fee may apply on some instruments. You can check the status under Trading conditions in the Personal Area. Details: Exness swap-free and Islamic account guide.

When the market is open in Indonesian time

Indonesia has three time zones: WIB (UTC+7, Jakarta), WITA (UTC+8, Bali and Makassar) and WIT (UTC+9, Papua). Forex trades five days a week. In Jakarta time, roughly:

SessionJakarta time (WIB)Note
Tokyoabout 07:00 to 15:00Quietest for EUR pairs, active for JPY and AUD
London openabout 14:00 to 15:00Moves with UK daylight saving
London and New York overlapabout 19:00 to 23:00Usually the busiest hours

Exact opening times vary by instrument, and gold, indices and crypto have their own schedules. See Exness trading hours. Many Indonesian traders work in the daytime and trade the evening overlap, which suits a demo-first approach: you can test that routine for weeks at no cost.

Account types, leverage and costs (short version)

Exness offers Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts. Standard and Standard Cent have low minimums; Pro, Raw Spread and Zero need at least USD 200 depending on region. Raw Spread charges 3.5 USD per lot per side on XAUUSD and Zero 5.5 USD. Default leverage is 1:2000 for equity up to 4,999.99 USD, and lower at higher equity. Compare in the account types guide and the leverage guide. High leverage magnifies losses as much as gains.

Free Exness demo account for Indonesian traders

Registration adds a Standard MT5 demo with a default USD 10,000 virtual balance, so you can place orders without a deposit. You can create demo versions of Standard, Pro, Zero and Raw Spread (not Standard Cent) and change the virtual balance. Learn the order window, set a stop loss on every demo trade and calculate lot size before you go live. Full steps are in the demo account guide.

Opening an account step by step

  1. Register with an email and password; tick the box confirming you are not a US citizen or resident.
  2. Choose Indonesia as your country of residence. Your registered region sets your payment options and cannot be changed later.
  3. Verify with proof of identity (KTP or passport) and proof of address that matches your permanent address. See verification.
  4. Open a trading account on MT4 or MT5, or use Exness Terminal in a browser.
  5. Deposit from an account in your own name.

Install options for PC and phone are in our download guide.

Tax on trading income

Tax is administered by the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP, Direktorat Jenderal Pajak). Whether and how trading income is taxed depends on your situation, so keep a record of every deposit, withdrawal and closed trade, and ask a licensed Indonesian tax adviser.

A realistic first-month plan in rupiah

Using the illustrative rate of IDR 16,000 per USD, here is how an Indonesian beginner could structure the first month without rushing to a live account.

WeekWhat to doMoney at risk
1Register, find the demo account, learn the order window and the lot-size boxNone (virtual)
2Trade the demo at a fixed 1% risk per trade; write down every tradeNone (virtual)
3Review the journal: how many trades followed your plan? Check the swap-free status and the costs of your instrumentsNone (virtual)
4Decide whether to fund a small live account, and verify your identity firstOnly an amount you can lose

On a live account of IDR 3,200,000 (USD 200), a 1% risk is USD 2, or IDR 32,000, per trade. With a 20-pip stop loss on a EURUSD position, that implies a lot size near 0.01. Position sizing like this matters more than leverage, because 1:2000 only changes how little margin a trade needs, not how much you lose when it goes wrong.

Scams and "investasi bodong" to avoid

Indonesia's Investment Alert Task Force (Satgas Waspada Investasi), run with OJK, regularly warns about illegal investment schemes. In forex, the pattern is familiar:

  • Signal groups on Telegram or WhatsApp that promise fixed daily returns.
  • "Auto-trading robots" or accounts "managed" for you in return for access to your login.
  • Fake Exness sites and fake support agents who ask for your password, a one-time code or a "release fee" to withdraw.
  • Anyone asking you to deposit into a personal bank account instead of using the Exness Deposit tab.

Exness says its staff never ask for your passwords. Use the support hub in the Personal Area, not messages from strangers. Keep the security options in the Personal Area turned on.

Reading the platform from Indonesia

The Exness Trade app supports Android 6.0 or later and iOS 15 or later. Where the Android store version is unavailable, Exness points to an APK in its Help Center installation guide; use only that official link. For a PC, install MT5 or use Exness Terminal in a browser: download guide. Prices are quoted in USD for most instruments, so a rupiah-based trader sees profit and loss in USD and must convert for withdrawals. Keep a spreadsheet of the rate you used on each deposit.

Frequently asked questions

Exness holds no Bappebti licence, and Bappebti blocks websites of unlicensed brokers. You can register, but you would not have Indonesian regulatory protection. Check Bappebti's lists yourself.

Does Exness accept Indonesian clients?

Exness lists Indonesia among its swap-free countries, which shows it registers clients from there. Exness's Help Center publishes no list of restricted countries, so the registration form decides at the time you sign up.

Can I deposit to Exness in rupiah?

It depends on the currencies and payment methods in your Deposit tab. If rupiah is not offered, your bank or provider converts it. Compare the rate and fee first.

Is Exness halal or swap-free in Indonesia?

Swap is not applied to any instrument for clients registered from Indonesia. Exness says an overnight administrative fee may apply on some instruments, so read the instrument conditions. See the Islamic account guide.

Is there an Exness demo account for Indonesia?

Yes, a free Standard MT5 demo with USD 10,000 in virtual funds.

What is the minimum deposit for Indonesian clients?

Standard and Standard Cent are low and depend on the payment method and region. Pro, Raw Spread and Zero need at least USD 200 depending on region.

Why can't I open the Exness website in Indonesia?

Some Exness web addresses have been blocked by the authorities. We do not recommend workarounds such as VPNs. Contact Exness support through the Personal Area if you have trouble with your account.
