Short answer: Jamaican traders register on Exness with an email address and a mobile number, verify identity and address, and choose a demo or live account. The Jamaican dollar (JMD) is not on Exness's account currency list, so a live account is held in USD or another listed currency and converted at deposit and withdrawal. Begin with the free demo, which uses virtual funds. Jamaica is not on Exness's swap-free country list, though swap-free applies by default to eligible instruments. Jamaica's financial sector is supervised by the Financial Services Commission and the Bank of Jamaica, covered below.

Rules and regulators in Jamaica

The Financial Services Commission (FSC) supervises securities dealers and other non-bank financial firms, and the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) oversees banks and authorised foreign exchange dealers and cambios. We found no Jamaican rule that specifically addresses retail trading with an overseas CFD broker, and we have not verified whether any Exness entity is registered in Jamaica. Check the FSC website (fscjamaica.org) and the BOJ website for current notices and warnings about unlicensed firms, and ask a Jamaican lawyer if you need certainty.

Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. We could not verify which entity registers clients from Jamaica.

How to open an Exness account from Jamaica

  1. Register. Enter your email and a password, confirm you are not a US citizen or resident, and add a partner code if you have one. Exness requires a mobile number that works in your country of residence (registration guide).
  2. Complete the economic profile and upload proof of identity and proof of address. Details are in the verification guide.
  3. Open a demo account and practise. See the demo account guide.
  4. Choose account type and currency. The currency cannot be changed later. Compare options in the account types guide.
  5. Deposit from the Deposit tab in your Personal Area, which lists the methods offered for your registered region. Payments must come from an account in your own name.
  6. Install a platform. The MT5 download guide covers desktop and mobile.

JMD, USD and conversion costs

Many Jamaicans already hold US dollar accounts, which can make a USD trading account a natural fit. If you fund from a JMD account instead, you pay the exchange rate and any bank or provider fee in both directions. Example with an assumed rate, not a quote: at USD 1 = JMD 160, JMD 8,000 buys USD 50. If the rate moves to JMD 165 when you withdraw, the same USD 50 returns JMD 8,250 with no trading profit. That change comes from the currency, not your trades. Check the fee shown at the payment step before confirming a deposit.

Spreads can vary and widen with market volatility, news and market open/close. Compare numbers in the spread list and read the minimum deposit guide. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains; see the leverage guide and the stop-out guide.

Swap

Jamaica is not on the list of 33 countries that receive automatic swap-free status on all instruments. Swap-free still applies by default to eligible instruments, and an overnight administrative fee may apply on some, so check the contract specification before holding a trade overnight. See the Islamic account guide.

Trading hours in Jamaica time

On Exness, major and minor forex pairs trade from Sunday 21:05 UTC to Friday 20:55 UTC, which is about Sunday 16:05 to Friday 15:55 in Jamaica (UTC-5). Jamaica does not change its clocks, but London and New York do, so the session times in Jamaica shift by an hour twice a year, while the Exness weekly open and close in UTC do not. The London and New York overlap, usually the busiest window for major pairs and gold, is roughly 08:00 to 12:00 Jamaica time in winter. That sits in the working morning, so decide beforehand whether you can watch charts at work and set a stop time. See the trading hours guide.

Tax

Taxes in Jamaica are administered by Tax Administration Jamaica (jamaicatax.gov.jm). We found no guidance on offshore CFD gains, so ask a Jamaican accountant how profits and foreign accounts are treated, and keep dated records of every transfer with its JMD value.

Staying safe

Spend the first weeks on the demo, risk a small fixed share of the account on each trade (1% is a common ceiling) and use a stop-loss. The risk management guide and position sizing guide show how. Be wary of WhatsApp and social-media groups that promise fast returns, sell "signals" or ask for your Exness login or a deposit sent to a third party. Exness ended copy trading on 25 June 2026, so offers to copy Exness traders are not an Exness product.
