Short answer: You can register an Exness account with Tanzania as your country, and a demo account is free. There is no Tanzanian shilling (TZS) trading account: the Exness Help Center list of account currencies does not include TZS, so most Tanzanian traders open a USD account and fund it from their own bank or wallet. When we last checked the CMSA website (October 23, 2026) it showed no licence or warning naming Exness, so the protections that apply are those of the Exness company named in your client agreement.

Does Exness work in Tanzania?
Exness does not publish a country-by-country list of where it takes clients. The practical test is the registration form: you enter your email, choose Tanzania as your country of residence, and the form shows whether service is offered. If it is, you get a Personal Area, can open a demo account straight away and can open a live account once you verify.
Exness accepts clients based on where they permanently and lawfully live. A Tanzanian citizen living in Tanzania registers from Tanzania; a foreign resident in Tanzania can register if their documents show that residence. Your country of residence cannot be changed after registration, and if you move permanently you must register a new account from the new country. We do not suggest registering from a country where you do not live.
Is there an Exness TZS account?
No. The account currency list in the Help Center covers Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts (and cent currencies for Standard Cent) but TZS is not among them. The nearest East African currencies listed are KES (Kenya) and UGX (Uganda); the Kenyan one belongs to the Kenyan entity and does not apply to Tanzanian residents.
What that means in practice:
- Open a USD account if you want the simplest comparison with price quotes. Gold, and most pairs, are quoted against the dollar.
- Conversion happens at the deposit and withdrawal step. If you pay in shillings and your account is in dollars, the payment provider or bank converts at its own rate at that moment. Exness states that the currency you deposit with is the one used when you withdraw.
- You cannot change account currency later. Pick it when you create the account. A new account is the only way to switch.
Because the shilling can move against the dollar, your balance in TZS terms changes even if your trade result is flat. Keep records of the rate on every deposit and withdrawal.
Deposits and mobile money: what to check
Tanzania has several widely used mobile wallets (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, HaloPesa). Whether any of them appears for you is not something we can promise. The only reliable source is the Deposit tab in your Personal Area, which shows the methods available for your registered region, with limits, fees and processing time.
Rules that apply whatever you use:
- Your name must match. Exness accepts payments only from accounts in the client's own name. A wallet registered in someone else's name is a third-party payment.
- Verification lifts limits. Complete identity checks before depositing larger amounts.
- Two fee sources. Your bank or wallet operator may charge its own fee, separate from anything Exness shows.
- Provider downtime. Methods can be temporarily unavailable during provider maintenance.
Read deposit and withdrawal methods and withdrawal time for the general rules. Withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method.
Minimum deposit for Tanzania
| Account type | First-deposit rule |
|---|---|
| Standard Cent and Standard | Low; depends on payment method and country |
| Pro, Raw Spread, Zero | At least USD 200 in some regions |
Later deposits only need to meet the payment method's minimum. The practical minimum is higher than the method minimum, because the lot size, margin and spread decide how much room a trade has. A small balance with a large position can be closed out quickly. Standard accounts have margin call at 60% and stop out at 0%; see stop out and the minimum deposit guide.
How to open an Exness account from Tanzania
- Register. Enter your email, choose Tanzania as your country and set a password.
- Open a demo account in the Demo tab and practise with virtual funds (demo account guide).
- Verify. Upload a government ID (national ID, NIDA card or passport) and proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement (verification guide).
- Create a live account. Choose the type, platform (MT4, MT5 or the Exness Trade app) and currency. See account types.
- Deposit from an account in your own name, starting small.
- Install your platform (app guide) and trade with a stop-loss on every position.
Exness demo account in Tanzania
A demo account uses virtual funds and the same platforms as a live account, so it is the cheapest way to learn the order window, lot sizes and margin. Demo accounts are available for every account type except Standard Cent. Demo results are not a guide to live results, because live spreads, slippage and emotions differ.
Is Exness legal in Tanzania?
Facts, kept short:
- The Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA) regulates Tanzania's securities markets, and the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) supervises banks, foreign exchange bureaux and payment systems. Neither regulates offshore online forex brokers as a category that we could confirm.
- To check a firm, search the CMSA list of licensed market intermediaries and read its public notices at cmsa.go.tz, and check Bank of Tanzania announcements at bot.go.tz.
- Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See Exness regulation.
The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) is the tax authority. Ask a Tanzanian tax adviser how trading income is treated, and keep a record of deposits, withdrawals and trades (forex tax guide).
Market hours in Tanzania (East Africa Time, UTC+3)
Tanzania has no daylight saving, so local times shift by an hour against London and New York during their clock changes.
| Event | Approximate local time (EAT) |
|---|---|
| Weekly open (Sunday 21:05 UTC) | Monday 00:05 |
| Tokyo session starts | 03:00 |
| London session starts | 10:00 or 11:00 |
| New York session starts | 15:00 or 16:00 |
| Weekly close (Friday 20:55 UTC) | Friday 23:55 |
The London and New York overlap is usually the most liquid window. Spreads can vary and widen with market volatility, news and market open/close. See Exness trading hours.
Swap, Islamic account and leverage
Tanzania is not on the Exness list of 33 countries whose residents are assigned swap-free status automatically. Swap-free applies by default on eligible instruments, and an overnight administrative fee may apply on some. Read the Islamic account guide if this matters to you.
Maximum leverage depends on your equity and the entity serving you; see the leverage guide. Higher leverage increases losses as well as gains, so a stop-loss matters more than the leverage figure.
Contact and login
Support is available by chat once you are logged in and by support-hub ticket, 24/7. We found no Tanzanian office or phone line in the Help Center, so anyone claiming to be an "Exness Tanzania agent" and asking for your password or a code is not Exness. See Exness login and customer support.
