Exness China: CNY Account, Chinese Support and Legal Status

Short answer: Exness lists the Chinese yuan (CNY) as an account currency for Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts, and its support team works in Chinese 24/7. Whether the registration form accepts China as your country of residence is the final test, because Exness publishes no country list that names China either way. On the legal side, we found no official mainland text that licenses offshore retail forex brokers, and mainland residents face an annual foreign-currency purchase quota, so the position is unclear and the risk is yours.

Does Exness accept clients from China?

Exness's footer says it does not serve residents of the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia, Belarus "and others". China is not named, so a resident may be able to start registration. The registration form's country list is the final check, and the answer can change, so treat any forum post as out of date.

Exness requires a proof of identity and a proof of address that show permanent residence in the country you register from. The proof of address must be dated within the past six months, and a national ID card cannot serve as proof of address. If your documents show an address somewhere other than where you register, expect a rejection. Registering with another country's identity or address is not allowed and can lead to account closure.

Is Exness legal in China?

Two bodies matter for individuals. The People's Bank of China (PBOC) and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) control foreign-exchange conversion and cross-border funds, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) supervises securities and futures markets.

What we could confirm:

• SAFE's rules give each person an annual quota of USD 50,000 for buying foreign currency. Reuters reported in 2017 that the cap stayed unchanged when scrutiny of individual purchases was tightened.
• We found no official PBOC, SAFE or CSRC text that licenses offshore brokers to offer leveraged forex to mainland residents, and Exness holds no mainland licence.
• Exness operates through group companies authorised by regulators elsewhere. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement. See Exness regulation and check the register of the regulator it names.

Because mainland rules on cross-border funds are strict, ask a qualified mainland lawyer or your bank about your own case before moving money. We do not suggest any way around the quota.

CNY accounts: what the Help Center says

Exness's Help Center lists CNY among the account currencies for Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. It also says that market execution on Pro accounts is available only in a short list of currencies, and CNY is one of them (the others are USD, JPY, THB, IDR and VND). Standard Cent accounts use cent currencies (USC, EUC and others), not CNY.

Two practical points:

• The currency cannot be changed after the account is created. Choose between CNY and USD before you open.
• Conversions apply when a deposit or withdrawal is in a different currency from the account. Gold (XAUUSD) and most major pairs are quoted in dollars, so profit and loss in a CNY account are converted at the moment of each trade.

Chinese-language support

The Help Center states that support specialists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu. The routes are a support-hub ticket (reply within 24 hours) and live chat in your Personal Area. We did not verify whether Simplified and Traditional Chinese are both covered, so ask in the language you prefer. Beware of anyone offering "Exness China agent" services who asks for your password, a verification code or a fee to release your own money; real Exness support never needs your password. Trading hours in China (UTC+8)

China uses one time zone, China Standard Time (UTC+8), with no daylight saving. Approximate local times for the main sessions:

London	about 15:00 or 16:00, depending on UK daylight saving
New York	about 20:00 or 21:00, depending on US daylight saving

The London and New York overlap therefore runs from about 20:00 to past midnight. US data such as payrolls and inflation usually lands around 20:30 or 21:30. The week's close falls early on Saturday morning. See Exness trading hours for instrument-specific schedules.

How to open an Exness account from China

1. Register with your email, a password and the country where you permanently live. The country cannot be changed later.
2. Verify. Upload a government-issued proof of identity (passport, national ID card or driver's licence) and a proof of address dated within six months, such as a utility bill or bank statement, showing the same name. Review usually takes up to 24 hours. See verification.
3. Choose an account. Compare Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero in account types, and choose the currency.
4. Deposit from an account in your own name, using only what the Deposit tab offers.
5. Pick a platform: MT4, MT5, Exness Terminal in a browser, or the Exness Trade app (download guide).

Leverage by equity is 1:2000 by default up to USD 29,999.99 of equity, 1:1000 from USD 30,000 and 1:500 from USD 100,000. High leverage makes a stop-loss more important, not less (leverage, stop out).

Tax

Individual income tax in China is administered by the State Taxation Administration. We did not find a clear statement on how gains from offshore CFD trading are treated, so keep a record of every deposit, withdrawal and trade and ask a mainland tax adviser.
