Short answer: Colombia is not on the list of countries Exness says it does not serve, so you can select it when you register and open a free demo account straight away. The Colombian peso (COP) is not an Exness account currency, so a Colombian trader's real choice is a USD account (or another listed currency) and a conversion cost on every deposit and withdrawal. We found no authorisation from the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC) for Exness, which is a fact to weigh before you fund an account.

We did not open a Colombian account, so we do not describe live deposit screens.
Is Exness available in Colombia?
Exness's own website footer says it does not provide services to residents of the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus, "and others". Colombia is not named. That is not a guarantee, because the list is not complete: the country list in the registration form is the final check. If Colombia is selectable, you can create a Personal Area and a demo account. If it is not, Exness does not serve you and this page does not apply.
Residence matters, not nationality. Exness accepts people who permanently and lawfully live in a country it serves, and asks for proof of identity and address that show it. A Colombian who lives abroad registers from the country where they live.
| Question | What we can confirm | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Is COP an account currency? | No. Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero offer ARS, BRL and MXN among Latin American currencies, but not COP | Help Center, "Trading account currencies" |
| Spanish support? | Not on the list: English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu | Help Center, "How do I contact Exness?" |
| Demo account | Free, all account types except Standard Cent | Help Center, demo accounts |
| Minimum first deposit | Low for Standard and Standard Cent, depends on method and country; at least USD 200 for Pro, Raw Spread and Zero depending on region | Help Center, minimum deposit |
| Swap-free on all instruments | No. Colombia is not on the 33-country Islamic list; swap-free applies by default to eligible instruments | Help Center, article 18055079599132 |
COP is not an account currency: what that means
An Exness account currency cannot be changed after you create the account, and the Help Center warns that conversions apply when you deposit or withdraw in a currency different from the account's. For a Colombian trader this leaves two practical routes:
- USD account. Gold, EURUSD and most pairs are quoted against the dollar, so pip values and commissions are easy to follow. Each deposit and withdrawal passes through the peso-dollar rate.
- Another listed currency. Euro and other currencies are available, but then you carry two exchange risks (peso to euro and euro to dollar-quoted markets). Most beginners are better off keeping it simple.
Illustration at an assumed rate of USD 1 = COP 4,000; your bank, card or payment provider shows the real rate, and it changes every day.
| Dollar amount | Illustrative pesos | Note |
|---|---|---|
| USD 50 | COP 200,000 | A small test deposit, if your method and account type allow it |
| USD 200 | COP 800,000 | The minimum first deposit stated for Pro, Raw Spread and Zero in some regions |
| USD 1,000 | COP 4,000,000 | Check Exness's currency conversion article for how the rate is applied |
The peso has moved a lot against the dollar over the years, so a withdrawal can be worth fewer or more pesos than you expect even if your trading result is flat. Add your bank's transfer fee and any local tax on the movement to the total cost. Check the Banco de la República and your bank for the rules that apply to you.
For payments, the Deposit tab of your Personal Area is the only reliable list for Colombia. Searches for "Exness PSE" or "Exness Nequi" are common, but we could not confirm either method from public Exness pages. The rule that does not change: payments must come from an account or card in your own name, and Exness does not accept third-party payments. Read the deposit and withdrawal guide and minimum deposit.
Is Exness legal in Colombia?
Short facts, not legal advice:
- The Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC) supervises banks, brokers and the securities market. Its public circulars say the only lawful ways to promote foreign financial services in Colombia are representation offices of foreign institutions and correspondent contracts, both needing SFC authorisation, and that it has ordered promoters of unauthorised foreign forex platforms to stop.
- We found no SFC alert that names Exness, and no Exness entity authorised by the SFC. Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register.
- Older Banco de la República opinions discuss foreign-exchange platforms offered to Colombian residents under the exchange regime. We did not verify the current position, so ask a Colombian lawyer if you need certainty.
In practice, a Colombian client of an overseas broker relies on the client agreement and the foreign regulator, not on the SFC. Read Exness regulation before depositing. Ignore any WhatsApp or Telegram "asesor" offering managed profits.
Demo account: start here
- Register on the Exness website with your email and password.
- Choose Colombia as your country. The region cannot be changed later.
- Confirm your email. Your Personal Area opens with a Standard MT5 demo account and virtual funds.
- To add an MT4, Pro, Raw Spread or Zero demo, go to My Accounts, select Open Account, then Demo.
Use the demo to learn the platform, test position sizing (risk 1% of the balance and see how many pips of stop loss that allows) and read the spread and swap of every instrument before trading it live. More in the demo account guide and the Exness download guide.
Market hours in Bogotá time
Colombia uses UTC-5 all year, with no daylight saving. London and New York change their clocks on different dates, so the gap moves by an hour during the year. Times below are approximate.
| Session | Colombia time |
|---|---|
| Tokyo open | about 19:00 the evening before |
| London open | 02:00 or 03:00 |
| New York open | 07:00 or 08:00 |
| US data (e.g. non-farm payrolls) | about 07:30 or 08:30 |
| Weekly close | Friday about 16:00 or 17:00 |
MetaTrader runs on server time, not Bogotá time, so convert before setting alerts. The London-New York overlap falls in the Colombian morning, which suits traders who work office hours. See Exness trading hours.

Taxes in Colombia
The Dirección de Impuestos y Aduanas Nacionales (DIAN) is the tax authority. How trading gains from an overseas broker are reported depends on your situation and on rules that change, and we did not verify the current treatment. Keep statements, deposit and withdrawal records and the exchange rate on each date, and ask a Colombian accountant. General background is in our forex tax guide.
