Short answer: Many reviews still say "Oman Capital Market Authority", but that body no longer exists under its old name: a royal decree in March 2024 replaced it with the Financial Services Authority (FSA), which now supervises the securities and capital markets sector. Exness lists Oman among the countries whose registered clients get swap-free status automatically, and the Omani rial (OMR) is one of its account currencies. Exness's own documents we could read do not say whether an Omani authorisation exists, so search the FSA's list of licensed firms before you deposit.

Sources: the Exness Help Center (swap-free countries, account currencies, support, stop out, payments), checked October 29, 2026, plus the public regulator websites named below. We did not open an Exness account from Oman.
From the CMA to the FSA: what changed in Oman
On 25 March 2024 Royal Decree 20/2024 established the Financial Services Authority and transferred the assets, staff and obligations of the Capital Market Authority, which had been set up by Royal Decree 80/98 in 1998, to it. References to the old authority in other laws now read as references to the FSA, and the FSA also took over oversight of the accounting and auditing profession (Al Tamimi & Co. summary; Trowers & Hamlins summary). The practical consequence for you: older articles, forum posts and broker pages that tell you to check "the Oman CMA" are out of date, and the website to use is the FSA's.
Exness's Help Center says only that it operates through several group companies and that your Personal Area footer names the one serving you. We found no Oman-specific statement and could not open exness.com (it blocked automated access), so we do not claim an Omani authorisation either way.
How to check in ten minutes:
- Register and read the footer of your Personal Area for the company name that serves you.
- Search that company on the list of licensed firms published by the Financial Services Authority of Oman: www.fsa.gov.om.
- Read the client agreement for the named company, its regulator and the complaint route.
- Treat claims on third-party review sites as unverified until they match steps 2 and 3.
Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. For the wider picture, see Exness regulation; Forex broker UAE is the closest Gulf comparison page we have, and the UAE shares the same UTC+4 time zone.

Muscat time (UTC+4) and the Omani weekend
Oman uses UTC+4, the same as the UAE and one hour ahead of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, so every session opens an hour later on your clock than it does for a trader in Riyadh. Platform charts use Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+0), which the Help Center says cannot be changed, so convert times before you place a news trade.
| Session | Muscat time |
|---|---|
| Tokyo open | about 04:00 |
| London open | about 12:00 (11:00 during UK summer time) |
| New York open | about 17:00 (16:00 during US summer time) |
| Typical US data release | about 17:30 (16:30) |
Oman moved from a Thursday-Friday weekend to Friday-Saturday on 1 May 2013 (Reuters via The Peninsula). The forex market closes in the early hours of Saturday and reopens in the early hours of Monday Muscat time. For instrument-specific sessions, see Exness trading hours.
Swap-free trading for Omani clients
Exness does not ask Omani clients to submit a separate Islamic account request. For clients registered from the listed countries, swap-free status is assigned automatically and applies to every trading account in the same Personal Area, with zero swap on all instruments. To confirm, open Trading conditions under Exness benefits in your Personal Area and select Swap-Free.
- Exness says an overnight administrative fee may apply on some instruments, so read the instrument specification instead of assuming the fee is zero.
- Clients from other countries have swap-free trading on eligible instruments by default.
- Swap-free is a product feature. Whether it meets your religious requirements is a question for a qualified scholar.
Full details are in Exness swap-free and Islamic account guide.
OMR accounts: a small peg number, a large-looking currency
Choose the account currency when you create the trading account; it cannot be changed later. OMR is on the Help Center list, and so are USD, EUR and GBP. Standard Cent accounts are offered only in cent currencies such as USC, so an OMR account means Standard, Pro, Raw Spread or Zero.
The rial is pegged at about 0.3845 per US dollar, so a USD account has little exchange-rate risk for an Omani resident. A deposit of OMR 384.5 equals about USD 1,000 before any fee or margin on the rate, and the USD 200 that some account types need is about OMR 77. Because one rial is worth about USD 2.60 at the peg, balances on an OMR account look small next to a USD account. Conversions apply when your payment method is in a different currency from the account currency, and on an OMR account every profit and loss is converted into rials. Use the rate your bank or provider shows on the day.
Exness does not publish payment methods by country. What is available to you depends on your region, verification and provider availability, and appears in the Deposit tab of your Personal Area. Payments must come from accounts in your own name, and limits stay until you are fully verified. Withdrawals go back by the currency and route of the deposit. Details are in Exness deposit and withdrawal and minimum deposit.
Account types and stop out in brief
OMR is available on Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. Standard suits most beginners with a low minimum that depends on the payment method; Pro, Raw Spread and Zero need at least USD 200 in some regions. Raw Spread is commission-based, with XAUUSD at 3.5 USD per lot per side, and Zero charges 5.5 USD per lot per side on XAUUSD. See account types.
Maximum leverage depends on the equity in the trading account, from 1:2000 by default below USD 5,000 down to 1:500 at USD 100,000 and above, and the entity serving you can set tighter limits; the tiers and conditions are in the leverage guide. Margin call is at 60% on Standard and Standard Cent and 30% on Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. High leverage does not change risk per trade; a tight stop-loss with a large lot can still lose the account on a short move. Negative Balance Protection resets a negative balance to zero after a stop out (stop out explained).
Opening an account from Oman
Register with your email and choose Oman as your country; the region sets your payment methods and cannot be changed afterwards. A demo account uses virtual funds and needs no deposit (demo guide). To go live, verify with a valid government ID and proof of address that matches your country of residence (verification), open an account in your currency on MT4, MT5, the Exness Terminal or the Exness Trade app, and deposit by a method shown in the Deposit tab, in your own name. Support is available 24/7, including in Arabic. If you move permanently to another country you must register a new account there, according to the Help Center.
Reviews, scams and tax
Exness says it belongs to The Financial Commission, whose compensation fund covers only its own judgments up to a set limit (EUR 20,000 per client) and does not cover trading losses. Before you rely on a review, check its date and whether the reviewer names the company on their account. Typical warning signs in the region: a "manager" who contacts you on WhatsApp or Telegram, promises of fixed monthly returns, requests to send funds to a personal account, or a link that is not the official Exness domain. Exness staff never ask for your password or one-time code.
Tax rules for individuals and companies differ and they change. The Oman Tax Authority is the body to ask about trading income, and you should also consider the tax law of any other country where you are resident.
