Exness Vietnam: Legal Status, VND Deposits and Demo (2026)

Short answer: Vietnamese traders search for Exness a lot, but two questions have different answers. Can you register? Exness's Help Center publishes no list of unsupported countries, and Vietnam did not appear on the third-party restricted lists we checked, so the registration form is the final test. Is it legal? We found no Vietnamese licence regime for offshore retail forex brokers and no official statement either permitting or banning Exness, so the position is unclear and the risk is yours. Unlike Indonesia or Turkey, Vietnam is not on Exness's swap-free country list.

Does Exness accept clients from Vietnam?

Exness does not publish a country list in its Help Center. What it does publish is a rule for residents: Exness accepts nationals who live in their home country if Exness services are offered there, and it requires proof of identity and proof of address showing that you are a permanent resident of the country you register from. It does not accept nationals of a country it serves who live in a country it does not serve.

For you, this means three things:

• Register using the country where you actually live and can show an address document.
• Do not register with another country's identity or address. Exness can close accounts that breach the Client Agreement.
• If the form does not accept Vietnam, that is the answer; do not look for workarounds.

If you move abroad permanently, Exness says to register a new account in the new country.

Is Exness legal in Vietnam?

Vietnam's foreign-exchange rules sit with the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), and the State Securities Commission (SSC) supervises securities markets. We could not find official text that creates a licence for foreign online forex or CFD brokers, and we could not find text that names Exness as banned. Exness holds no Vietnamese licence.

Practically:

• Exness is unlicensed in Vietnam, so you would not have a Vietnamese regulator to complain to.
• Treat claims that a broker is "SBV-licensed" for retail forex with caution, and ask the SBV or SSC directly.

Depositing from Vietnamese dong

Vietnamese traders usually fund through bank transfer (Vietcombank, Techcombank, MB and others), through e-wallets (MoMo, ZaloPay) or by card. Whether Exness offers any of these is shown only in the Deposit tab of your Personal Area; it depends on your registered region, your verification status and provider availability. Never use a third party's account: Exness accepts payments only from accounts in your own name.

An illustrative worked example, using USD 1 = VND 25,000 (not a live rate):

Check whether Vietnamese dong is an account currency in your region. If it is not, your bank converts VND to USD, and the spread between the buy and sell rate becomes a hidden cost. Compare the rate before you transfer.

Swap charges: Vietnam is not swap-free by default

Exness grants automatic swap-free status on all instruments to clients from 33 Islamic countries (the Help Center list includes Indonesia, Algeria, Morocco, Turkiye and others, but not Vietnam). For a Vietnamese client the general rule applies: Exness accounts are swap-free by default on eligible instruments, other instruments can carry swap, and an overnight administrative fee may apply. Positions held overnight on non-eligible instruments, or kept open over the weekend, can cost or earn swap depending on the direction. Look at the specification of each instrument in the platform and read Exness swap-free and Islamic account guide before you hold trades through the night.

Trading hours in Vietnam (UTC+7)

Vietnam has one time zone, UTC+7, with no daylight saving. In Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City time:

• Tokyo and Sydney hours fall in the morning and early afternoon.
• London opens at about 14:00 to 15:00 depending on UK daylight saving.
• New York opens at about 19:00 to 20:00, so the London and New York overlap runs through the evening to about midnight.

That schedule suits people with daytime jobs, since the most active hours come after work. News releases from the US, such as inflation and payroll data, usually arrive around 19:30 to 20:30 Vietnam time. See Exness trading hours for instrument-specific schedules.

Account types, leverage and platforms in brief

Exness lists Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts. Standard and Standard Cent have low minimums that depend on the payment method and region. Default leverage is 1:2000 up to 4,999.99 USD of equity (unlimited if conditions are met), 1:1000 for 30,000 to 99,999 and 1:500 above 100,000. Compare accounts in account types and leverage. Tax is handled by Vietnam's tax authority under the Ministry of Finance. We have not found a clear statement of how gains from offshore CFD trading are treated, so keep records and ask a Vietnamese accountant or tax adviser.

Gold in Vietnam: XAUUSD is not the SJC price

Many Vietnamese traders come to forex through gold. Be clear about the difference: XAUUSD is the international spot price of one troy ounce of gold in US dollars, while domestic gold bars (such as SJC) are quoted in dong per lượng and can trade at a premium to the world price. One lượng is 37.5 grams and one troy ounce is about 31.1 grams, so one ounce is roughly 0.83 lượng. A CFD on XAUUSD follows the world price, not the Vietnamese retail price, and you never receive physical gold. On Exness, a 0.01-lot XAUUSD position represents about one ounce, so every USD 1 move is about USD 1 of profit or loss (VND 25,000 at the illustrative rate).

Worked risk plan in dong

At the illustrative 25,000 VND per USD, suppose you fund USD 200 (VND 5,000,000) and risk 1% per trade, i.e. USD 2 or VND 50,000.

• A 0.01-lot XAUUSD position with a stop loss USD 2 away risks about USD 2, which is your 1%.
• The same stop at 0.02 lots would risk USD 4, double your plan.
• Adding commission on a Raw Spread account (3.5 USD per lot per side on XAUUSD) costs about USD 0.07 round trip at 0.01 lots on XAUUSD, which is about VND 1,750.

Scams in the Vietnamese forex community

• Signal and "nhóm" groups that sell fixed-return promises, or ask you to transfer money to a personal account.
• Fake trading apps that look like Exness but are not; install only from Google Play, the App Store or links in the Exness Help Center.
• "Withdrawal fee" demands from fake support. Exness does not ask you to pay a fee to a person to release your own money.
• Impersonation using the Exness name on social media. Use the support hub in the Personal Area. Exness lists Vietnamese among its support languages, with support available 24/7.

Keep your KYC photos and account credentials private. If you lose money to a scam, report it to the police and keep the messages and transfers as evidence.
