Short answer: Mozambican residents can use the Exness registration form to check whether service is offered, and a free demo account costs nothing. The Mozambican metical (MZN) is not an Exness account currency, so you choose USD or another listed currency. Mozambique is not on the swap-free country list, but Exness still applies swap-free status by default on eligible instruments. Support is not listed in Portuguese. The registration form's country list is the final check on availability.

Is Exness available in Mozambique?

The Exness footer says it does not serve residents of the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus "and others". Mozambique is not named. "And others" means the country list on the registration form decides, so check it before you spend time on verification. Exness uses a residence rule: you must permanently and lawfully live in a country it serves and prove it with an identity document and an address document. A Mozambican citizen living in South Africa would register as a South African resident if Exness serves South Africa, and must prove it; see Exness South Africa.

Account currency: MZN is not listed

The Help Center list of account currencies includes ZAR, USD, EUR and GBP, but not MZN. Many Mozambicans save in meticais or in rand, so the realistic options are:

  • USD, which matches how gold and most major pairs are quoted.
  • ZAR, if your income or savings are in South African rand, which is common near the border. The rand is volatile, so a ZAR account carries that exposure on deposits.
  • EUR or GBP, if that is the currency you receive.

The currency is permanent once chosen. A deposit in a different currency is converted at the provider's rate, which you should compare before sending.

At an assumed USD 1 = MZN 64 (illustrative, not a live rate):

Dollar amountIllustrative meticaisWhat it represents
USD 10MZN 640A very small method minimum, where one exists
USD 50MZN 3,200A modest start on Standard or Standard Cent
USD 200MZN 12,800The stated minimum first deposit for Pro, Raw Spread and Zero in some regions

Read Exness minimum deposit for the difference between first and later deposits.

Deposits and withdrawals in Mozambique

Exness does not publish payment methods country by country. Mobile wallets run by telecom operators and bank cards are widely used in Mozambique, but whether any is offered to you shows only in the Deposit tab of your Personal Area, depending on registered region, verification and provider uptime. For any method:

  1. Own name only. The wallet or bank account must be in your name. Exness refuses third-party payments.
  2. Fees and conversion. Your operator or bank charges its own fee and a conversion margin if the currency differs.
  3. Verification first. Limits stay low until your documents are approved (verification guide).
  4. Withdrawals usually return to the method used to deposit. Withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method. See Exness payments and withdrawal time.

The Banco de Moçambique (bancomoc.mz), the central bank, supervises banks and foreign-exchange rules. We have not verified how current rules treat payments to a foreign trading platform, so ask your bank in writing before you send anything.

Swap in Mozambique

Mozambique is not on the Help Center list of 33 swap-free countries, so the "Islamic country" status is not applied automatically. Exness does say that swap-free applies by default to eligible instruments. For positions held over several days, check the swap values in the platform's specification for each symbol before trading, and read the swap explained guide. If you want an account with no swap and you are Muslim, ask Exness support what applies to you; do not assume.

  • The Banco de Moçambique is the central bank and supervises banks and foreign exchange. Mozambique has a stock exchange, the Bolsa de Valores de Moçambique, but we did not find a dedicated public register of retail forex brokers. We found no Exness authorisation from a Mozambican authority.
  • Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register.
  • Without a local supervisor, your recourse is Exness's complaint process and the dispute body named in your agreement (Exness regulation).
  • Tax falls under the Autoridade Tributária de Moçambique; ask a local accountant and keep your statements.

Language and support

Exness support is available 24/7 in English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu, with tickets answered within 24 hours according to Exness. Portuguese, the official language of Mozambique, is not on the list, so Portuguese speakers will need English for support, and the platform menus will be in English too. Our introduction to forex explains the basic terms in plain English.

Market hours in Central Africa Time (UTC+2, no daylight saving)

Mozambique stays on UTC+2 all year, so the offset to London and New York changes with their clocks:

SessionMaputo, northern winterMaputo, northern summer
Tokyo opensabout 02:00about 02:00
London opensabout 10:00about 09:00
New York opensabout 15:00about 14:00
US data (8:30 New York)about 15:30about 14:30

South Africa is in the same time zone, so the Exness South Africa hours table is consistent. The market closes on Friday evening and reopens on Sunday evening in UTC terms; see Exness trading hours.

Accounts, leverage and platforms

Exness lists Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts (account types). A cent account suits a first small live balance. Default leverage is 1:2000 by default up to USD 29,999.99 of equity, 1:1000 from USD 30,000 and 1:500 from USD 100,000 (leverage guide). A 0.01-lot EURUSD position near 1.10 has a notional value of about USD 1,100, so margin is roughly USD 2.20 at 1:500. Platforms: MT4, MT5, Exness Terminal and the Exness Trade app (download guide).

Demo account for Mozambique

A Standard MT5 demo with a default USD 10,000 virtual balance is added at registration. It can be reset; Standard Cent has no demo. With a metical-sized risk of MZN 640 (about USD 10, illustrative), practise sizing a 20-pip EURUSD stop at 0.05 lots. See the demo account guide.
