Exness Georgia: Is It Legal? GEL, Deposit, Account Opening

Short answer: Georgia is not named in the list of places Exness says it does not serve, so you can try choosing Georgia at registration and open a free demo account. The Georgian lari (GEL) is not an Exness account currency, so most traders in Tbilisi or Batumi use a USD account and accept a conversion when they fund it. The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) says that organising FOREX trading platforms is a licensed brokerage activity in Georgia, so read the legal section before you deposit.

Is Exness available in Georgia?

The footer of the Exness website lists the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus, "and others", as places it does not serve. Georgia is not named, but because the list ends with "and others" the country menu in the registration form is the final check. If Georgia can be selected, you can create a Personal Area and a demo account.

Exness bases acceptance on where you permanently and lawfully live. A Georgian citizen who lives in Georgia registers from Georgia. If you live in another country, register from that country with documents from there. We do not suggest choosing a country other than the one where you live.

Lari, dollars and account currency

Your account currency is fixed at creation. Exness says conversions apply when you deposit or withdraw in a currency different from the account's, and that you can avoid conversion charges by depositing in the account currency.

• USD: the simplest choice for gold and the dollar pairs. Many Georgians already hold dollar balances, and a dollar deposit avoids one conversion.
• EUR or GBP: listed, but only sensible if your income or savings are in those currencies.
• Funding in lari: your bank or payment provider converts at its own rate and may add a fee. Compare that all-in rate with the market rate and write down the lari value of each deposit and withdrawal to see your real result.

The GEL/USD rate moves, so a position that wins in dollars can still look different in lari when you withdraw.

Deposits and withdrawals for Georgian clients

The Help Center says first deposits are accepted only from accounts in the client's own name; third-party accounts are not accepted. It does not publish a method list by country. Is Exness legal in Georgia? What the NBG says

Short facts:

• The National Bank of Georgia is the financial regulator, including for the securities market. In a statement of 5 March 2021, the NBG said that under the Law on the Securities Market, brokerage services include "organizing FOREX trading platforms", that providing them without a licence is treated as a criminal offence, and that the public should use only brokerage companies licensed by the NBG.
• On 31 July 2026 the NBG warned that companies promising returns from crypto-asset trading may be pyramid schemes, and that words such as "brokerage" or "investment" in a company name do not mean it is licensed by the NBG. That warning does not mention forex.
• We could not search the NBG's register of licensed firms and found no NBG statement that names Exness, so we make no claim about whether Exness is licensed in Georgia. Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area.
