Short answer: Lesotho is not named in Exness's list of places it does not serve, so you can try choosing Lesotho at registration and open a free demo. The loti (LSL) is not an account currency; the South African rand (ZAR) is, and it is the closest option because the loti is widely described as being tied to the rand. The Central Bank of Lesotho has warned the public about unlicensed people taking money for forex trading, so read the legal section before you send any money.

We did not open a Lesotho account, did not test any deposit and could not confirm the loti-rand arrangement on a central bank page.
Is Exness available in Lesotho?
The Exness footer lists the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus, "and others". Lesotho is absent from the named list, but the country menu in the registration form is the final check. If Lesotho can be selected, you get a Personal Area and a demo account.
Exness goes by permanent, lawful residence. Many Basotho work in South Africa; someone living there registers from South Africa with South African proof of address, and a person living in Lesotho registers from Lesotho. We do not suggest registering from a country where you do not live.

Loti, rand or dollar?
An account currency cannot be changed after creation, and conversion applies when you pay in or out in another currency.
- ZAR: the loti is commonly described as pegged at par with the rand (we have not confirmed this on a central bank page), so a ZAR account can feel natural for Basotho who earn or save in rand. Quotes on gold and dollar pairs still arrive in dollars and are converted for your balance, so the rand-dollar rate still affects your result.
- USD: simplest for reading pip values and gold.
- Funding: deposit in the account currency to avoid conversion charges, and keep a note of the exchange rate at each deposit and withdrawal.
Deposits and withdrawals
Methods by country are not published. The Deposit tab of your Personal Area shows what is offered to you with limits, fees and processing times. The payment account must be in your own name; third-party accounts are not accepted. Finish verification and the economic profile first. See deposit and withdrawal methods and withdrawal time; withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method.
Minimum first deposit: Standard and Standard Cent are low and set by the method and region; Pro, Raw Spread and Zero have a regional minimum, at least USD 200 in some regions. A method's own minimum applies to every deposit. See minimum deposit.
Is Exness legal in Lesotho? The central bank's warning
This is the part to read twice.
- In a press release on forex trading dated 28 June 2018, the Central Bank of Lesotho, acting as Commissioner of Financial Institutions, warned that some persons and companies take deposits from the public to trade foreign currencies on the promise of lucrative returns, that they operate without licences from the central bank, and that the public should not give them money. It added that there is no recourse to the central bank for losses, and told anyone collecting money for forex trading to stop.
- The release is aimed at local deposit-taking schemes. It does not name Exness, and we found no central bank statement that does. It also does not say whether holding your own account with an overseas broker is allowed, so we make no claim either way; ask a Lesotho lawyer.
- The practical lesson: never give money to a person who trades for you or promises returns. Open the account yourself, in your own name, and fund it only through the Deposit tab.
- Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See Exness regulation.
Steps to open an account from Lesotho
- Register with your email and choose Lesotho, the country where you live.
- Practise on the demo (demo account guide).
- Verify with a passport, national ID or driver's licence, and a proof of address no older than six months, both in your name. A document must be valid for three months after upload (verification guide). If your address is informal, check which examples the upload screen accepts.
- Open a live account and pick currency and platform (account types).
- Deposit a small amount, set a stop-loss and test a withdrawal early.
Trading hours in Lesotho (SAST, UTC+2)
Lesotho shares its time zone with South Africa and has no daylight saving. The week opens late on Sunday evening in Maseru and closes on Friday night; the London and New York sessions fall in the morning and afternoon.
| Event | Maseru time (approx.) |
|---|---|
| Weekly open (Sunday 22:05 UTC in winter) | Monday 00:05 |
| London session starts | 09:00 or 10:00 |
| New York session starts | 14:00 or 15:00 |
| Weekly close (Friday 21:59 UTC in winter) | Friday 23:59 |
Weekly open and close times follow the Exness schedule after US daylight saving time ended on November 1, 2026 (Help Center, "Trading Hours Update", checked November 2, 2026). From the second Sunday of March they move one hour earlier.
Spreads can vary and widen with volatility, news and market open/close. See Exness trading hours and, for a neighbouring market, Exness South Africa.
Leverage, swap and support
Lesotho is not on the swap-free list; see the Islamic account guide. Leverage depends on your equity and the serving entity (leverage guide) and magnifies losses (risk management). Support is 24/7 in English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu through live chat or a support-hub ticket (customer support). Treat anyone who contacts you offering to "recover" or "grow" funds as a scam, and never share a password or one-time code.
