Short answer: Guatemala is not named in the list of places Exness says it does not serve, so you can try choosing Guatemala at registration and open a free demo account. The quetzal (GTQ) is not an Exness account currency, so you hold a US dollar account and the conversion happens at your bank or provider. Spanish support is not listed, and we could not open the website of the Superintendencia de Bancos, so we found no regulator statement about Exness either way.

Sources: the Exness Help Center (account currencies, first-time deposits, verification documents, contact, swap-free status, trading-hours update for the end of US daylight saving time), checked November 3, 2026; the Exness website footer, checked November 3, 2026; the reference exchange rate published by the Banco de Guatemala at banguat.gob.gt for November 2, 2026. We did not open a Guatemalan account, did not test deposits and could not open the website of the Superintendencia de Bancos (it returned an access error).
Is Exness available in Guatemala?
The footer of the Exness website says the entities listed there do not offer services to residents of certain jurisdictions, including the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the United Kingdom, Russia and Belarus, "and others". Guatemala is not named, but the list is open, so the country menu in the registration form is the final check. If you can select Guatemala, you can create a Personal Area and a demo account.
Exness decides by where you permanently and lawfully live. A Guatemalan living in the United States or Mexico registers from that country with documents from there. We do not suggest choosing a country where you do not live.

Quetzales and dollars: a worked example
The account currency cannot be changed after the account is created, and Exness applies conversion when a deposit or withdrawal currency differs from it. With a USD account, quetzales are converted by your bank or payment provider before the money reaches Exness. The Help Center advises depositing in the currency of your trading account, or checking the conversion rate first.
The Banco de Guatemala published a reference exchange rate of 7.64187 quetzales per US dollar for Monday, November 2, 2026. A reference rate is not what a bank will give you, because banks add their own buying and selling margins, so use it only to check the size of a quote.
| Example | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Quetzales for USD 200 at the reference rate | 200 x 7.64187 | about 1,528.37 GTQ |
| Dollars from 1,500 GTQ at the reference rate | 1,500 / 7.64187 | about USD 196.29 |
| Quetzales for USD 1,000 at the reference rate | 1,000 x 7.64187 | about 7,641.87 GTQ |
If your bank quotes a selling rate of, say, 7.80 you would pay about 2 percent more than the reference for the same dollars, and the same margin applies again on the way back. Write down the rate for every deposit and withdrawal and judge your result in quetzales if that is what you live on.
Deposits and withdrawals
The Help Center does not publish payment methods by country. The Deposit tab in your Personal Area lists what is available to you with minimum and maximum limits and processing times. Payments must come from accounts in your own name; third-party accounts are not accepted. Completing the economic profile and verification affects which methods are enabled.
If your bank delays or blocks international payments, Exness cannot change that. Withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method. See deposit and withdrawal methods and withdrawal time.
Minimum deposit in Guatemala
| Account type | First-deposit rule |
|---|---|
| Standard Cent, Standard | Low, based on the payment method and the region of registration |
| Pro, Raw Spread, Zero | A minimum that depends on the region; at least USD 200 in some regions |
Every method also has its own minimum that applies to every deposit. At the reference rate above, USD 200 is about 1,528 quetzales (200 x 7.64187). Size positions with the stop-out level in mind (stop out guide) and read the minimum deposit guide.
Is Exness legal in Guatemala?
What we could check:
- The Superintendencia de Bancos (SIB) supervises banks and other financial entities and publishes a list of the entities it supervises at sib.gob.gt. Its website returned an access error when we tried it on November 3, 2026, so we could not read its notices. A recent post from the SIB's public Instagram account, seen in search results, urged the public to check the list of supervised entities before handing money to a financial firm. That is a general warning and does not name Exness.
- The Banco de Guatemala sets monetary policy and publishes the reference exchange rate used above.
- We found no regulator statement that names Exness and no rule on retail forex or CFD trading in what we could read. That means we cannot say whether this activity is permitted, restricted or outside the SIB scope. A Guatemalan lawyer can say.
- Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See Exness regulation.
Tax treatment of foreign trading income is outside what we verified; ask a Guatemalan accountant and keep records of deposits and withdrawals.
How to open an Exness account from Guatemala
- Register with your email, choose Guatemala as your country and set a password.
- Open a demo and test your plan with virtual funds (demo account guide).
- Verify. Upload a proof of identity (passport, national identity card, which in Guatemala is the DPI, or driver's licence; it must stay valid for at least three months after upload) and a proof of address issued in the last six months, such as a utility bill or bank statement. The names must match exactly. Verification can take up to 24 hours (verification guide).
- Create a live account in USD and choose the type and platform (account types).
- Deposit a small amount from an account in your name, and test a withdrawal early.
- Trade with a stop-loss on MT4, MT5 or the Exness Trade app (app guide).
Because Spanish support is not listed, plan to contact Exness in English or rely on the screens and help articles (customer support).
Market hours in Guatemala (UTC-6)
Guatemala stays on UTC-6 all year with no daylight saving (checked against the IANA time zone database for America/Guatemala). Exness published a schedule change for the end of US daylight saving time on November 1, 2026: forex pairs now open on Sunday at 22:05 UTC and close on Friday at 21:59 UTC (Help Center, article 31342732737180). Metals, energies and indices have their own hours.
| Event (forex pairs) | Guatemala City time |
|---|---|
| Weekly open (Sunday 22:05 UTC) | Sunday 16:05 |
| Weekly close (Friday 21:59 UTC) | Friday 15:59 |
The market closes on Friday afternoon and opens on Sunday afternoon, so a weekend gap can hit an open position. From the second Sunday of March the Exness schedule moves one hour earlier, so check the instrument page in your Personal Area. Spreads can vary and widen with volatility, news and market open/close. See Exness trading hours.
Leverage, risk and scams
Maximum leverage depends on your equity and the entity serving you (leverage guide) and magnifies losses as well as gains (risk management). Be wary of anyone who offers to "manage" your account or guarantees returns, and never share your password or a one-time code. Contact Exness only through your Personal Area.
