Exness Brunei: BND Account, Swap-Free Status, BDCB Facts, Demo

Short answer: Brunei is not named in the list of places Exness says it does not serve, so you can try choosing Brunei at registration and open a free demo account. The Brunei dollar (BND) is an Exness account currency for Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts, and Brunei is on the Help Center list of countries that receive swap-free status automatically. Malay is not on the support-language list, but Arabic is. Gold (XAUUSD) has its own hours, shown below in Brunei time.

Is Exness available in Brunei?

The Exness footer says its entities do not offer services to residents of certain jurisdictions, including the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe and the United Kingdom, "and others". Brunei is not named, but the list is open, so the country menu in the registration form is the final check. If you can select Brunei, you can create a Personal Area and a demo account.

BND, SGD or USD: which account currency?

An account currency cannot be changed after you create the account, and conversions apply on deposits and withdrawals made in a different currency (Help Center). Brunei's central bank says the Brunei dollar and the Singapore dollar are always equal in value under the Currency Interchangeability Agreement, which is why a BND account and an SGD account have the same face value at the official parity. That parity is an arrangement between the central banks; Exness converts deposits made in another currency at its own rates, so we do not assume 1:1 inside Exness. Check the amount shown on the deposit screen.

• Fund and withdraw in Brunei dollars? A BND account avoids a conversion by Exness, though your bank or payment provider may still charge fees.
• Hold Singapore dollars? An SGD account suits that, and BDCB's parity means the numbers line up at the central-bank level.
• Mostly trade dollar pairs or gold? A USD account matches the quote currency of XAUUSD and EURUSD; just count the conversion at each end.

Swap-free status in Brunei

A swap is the charge or credit for holding a position past the daily rollover. For clients registered in the listed countries, the Help Center says swap-free status is assigned automatically, covers every account type in your Personal Area, and means all trading instruments on those accounts have zero swap. To see your status, open Trading conditions under Exness benefits in your Personal Area, then Swap-Free.

• A caveat: Exness reserves the right to apply an administration fee on orders kept open overnight Monday to Friday, based on trading activity, and publishes a rate table per instrument and lot (Help Center). Read the row for your instrument before you hold it for days.
• Who benefits: swing traders who keep positions for days, and traders who avoid interest for religious reasons. Day traders who close before the rollover see little difference.

XAUUSD is quoted in US dollars. Under the Exness schedule after US daylight saving ended on November 1, 2026, it is closed on Sunday until 23:01:30 UTC, in close-only mode until 23:05:00 and open from then; it closes on Friday at 21:58 UTC. From Monday to Thursday it pauses from 21:58 UTC and reopens at 23:02 UTC (Help Center, article 31342732737180). Brunei uses UTC+8 all year:

Is Exness legal in Brunei?

What we could check:

• The Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) is the financial regulator whose website we read; older documents on its site carry its earlier name, Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD). Its site has a list of BDCB licensees, including a capital market category, and an Alert List.
• The Alert List page says it names persons who may be or may have been wrongly perceived as licensed, authorised or regulated by BDCB, and that carrying out investment activities without a licence may breach the Securities Markets Order, 2013. The list includes entries for online investment and trading firms. We did not find Exness in the entries we could read, but the list loads by year, so we could not search every entry. Check the list yourself before you deposit.
• We found no BDCB statement that says retail forex or CFD trading with an overseas broker is permitted or prohibited. We cannot say which, so ask a lawyer in Brunei about your own case.
• Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different regulators. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement. See Exness regulation and confirm on the regulator's own register.

Tax treatment of foreign trading income is outside what we verified; ask a local accountant.

1. Register with your email, choose Brunei as your country and set a password. The country cannot be changed later.
