Short answer: Australia is not named in the list of places Exness says it does not serve, so you can try choosing Australia at registration and open a free demo account. The Australian dollar (AUD) is an Exness account currency, so you can keep your balance in AUD. The point to understand first is regulatory: Moneysmart, the consumer site run by ASIC, tells Australians to check that a forex provider holds an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence and warns that protections such as access to AFCA may not apply with an overseas provider that does not hold one.

Sources: the Exness Help Center (account currencies, first-time deposits, verification documents, swap-free status, US daylight-saving notice of 30 October 2026), checked November 2, 2026; the Exness website footer (country restrictions), checked October 29, 2026; the ASIC Moneysmart page "Forex trading" (moneysmart.gov.au), read as a search extract on November 2, 2026 because the full page blocked our request. We did not open an Australian account, did not test any deposit, and could not search ASIC's Professional Registers or its list of warnings.

Is Exness available in Australia?

The footer of the Exness website lists the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus, "and others", as places it does not serve. Australia is not named, but because the list ends with "and others" the country menu in the registration form is the final check. If Australia can be selected, you can create a Personal Area and a demo account.

Exness bases acceptance on where you permanently and lawfully live. If you live in Australia, register from Australia with an Australian proof of address. Australians living abroad register from the country where they live.

AUD or USD: choosing the account currency

Your account currency is fixed when the account is created. Exness says conversions apply when you deposit or withdraw in a currency different from the account's, and that you can avoid conversion charges by depositing in the account currency.

  • AUD account: the simplest choice if you fund and withdraw through an Australian bank. AUD/USD, AUD/JPY and other AUD pairs also report profit more directly in a currency you already hold.
  • USD account: natural for gold and the dollar pairs, but each move between AUD and USD adds a conversion.
  • AUC (cent) account: available with Standard Cent, in which one unit is a hundredth of the main currency. It suits very small first trades, and Standard Cent has no demo version.

Whichever you pick, note the AUD value of each deposit and withdrawal. Your tax adviser or the Australian Taxation Office can explain how trading results are treated; we did not verify tax rules.

Deposits and withdrawals for Australian clients

The Help Center says first deposits are accepted only from accounts in the client's own name; third-party accounts are not accepted. It does not publish a method list by country. The Deposit tab in your Personal Area shows the methods available to you, with minimum and maximum limits and processing times.

Practical checks:

  • Complete the economic profile and verification first, since they affect which methods are enabled.
  • Read the minimum and the processing time before you press Continue.
  • Your bank may add its own fee, or may query a payment to an overseas broker.

Withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method. See the deposit and withdrawal guide and withdrawal time.

Minimum deposit in Australia

Account typeFirst-deposit rule
Standard Cent, StandardLow, based on the payment method and the region of registration
Pro, Raw Spread, ZeroA minimum that depends on the region; at least USD 200 in some regions

Every method also has its own minimum that applies to every deposit. If the account rule is USD 200 and the method minimum is USD 10, the first deposit must be at least USD 200. A small balance with a large position can hit stop out quickly (stop out guide). See the minimum deposit guide.

Short facts:

  • Moneysmart, the consumer information site run by ASIC, says to check that a forex provider holds an Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence, and that ASIC's Professional Registers will show whether it does. It adds that if you trade through an overseas provider that does not hold an AFS licence, Australian consumer protections may not apply, including access to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
  • We could not search the ASIC registers and found no ASIC warning that names Exness, so we make no claim about whether Exness or any Exness group company holds an AFS licence. Searching public sources for an ASIC notice on Exness returned nothing, but that is not proof that none exists. Check ASIC's register and its list of warnings yourself.
  • Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See Exness regulation.

In plain terms: if the entity serving you is not on ASIC's register, your complaint route would be the overseas entity and its regulator, not AFCA. Do your own checking before you deposit, and never give your password or a one-time code to anyone claiming to be Exness.

How to open an Exness account from Australia

  1. Register with your email, choose Australia as your country and set a password. The country cannot be changed later.
  2. Open a demo and test your plan with virtual funds (demo account guide).
  3. Verify. Upload a proof of identity (passport, national ID or driver's licence; it must stay valid for at least three months after upload) and a proof of address issued in the last six months, such as a utility bill or bank statement. The name must match exactly. Verification can take up to 24 hours (verification guide).
  4. Create a live account and choose type, platform and currency (account types).
  5. Deposit from an account in your name, starting small.
  6. Trade with a stop-loss on MT4, MT5 or the Exness Trade app (app guide).

Market hours in Australia

On 30 October 2026 Exness published a schedule change for the end of US daylight saving time on 1 November: forex pairs now open on Sunday at 22:05 UTC and close on Friday at 21:59 UTC. Metals, energies and indices have their own hours. Australia has several time zones, and Sydney and Melbourne are on daylight saving time (UTC+11) until April 2027.

Event (forex pairs)Sydney / Melbourne (UTC+11)Brisbane (UTC+10)Perth (UTC+8)
Weekly open (Sunday 22:05 UTC)Monday 09:05Monday 08:05Monday 06:05
Weekly close (Friday 21:59 UTC)Saturday 08:59Saturday 07:59Saturday 05:59

Because the open falls on Monday morning in Australia, the Sydney business day starts with the market already running. The schedule moves again when US or Australian clocks change, so check the instrument page in your Personal Area. Spreads can vary and widen with market volatility, news and market open/close. See Exness trading hours.

Swap, leverage and risk

Australia is not on the swap-free country list, so swap rules follow your account and instrument (Islamic account guide). Maximum leverage depends on your equity and the entity serving you (leverage guide). Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains; read risk management.

Support and scams

Contact Exness only through your Personal Area, by live chat after login or a ticket in the support hub. Scam messages that copy a broker's name are common, and ASIC regularly warns about fake trading platforms. See customer support.
