Short answer: New Zealand is not named in the list of places Exness says it does not serve, so you can try choosing New Zealand at registration and open a free demo account. The New Zealand dollar (NZD) is an Exness account currency for the Standard, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero types. In New Zealand, offering margin contracts and contracts for difference is a licensed activity, so read the legal section before you deposit.

Sources: the Exness Help Center (account currencies, first-time deposits, verification documents, swap-free status, US daylight-saving notice of 30 October 2026), checked November 2, 2026; the Exness website footer (country restrictions), checked October 29, 2026; the Financial Service Providers Register help page on licensed market services (fsp-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz), read November 2, 2026. The FMA warnings search blocked our request, so we could not search it. We did not open a New Zealand account and did not test any deposit.
Is Exness available in New Zealand?
The footer of the Exness website lists the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus, "and others", as places it does not serve. New Zealand is not named, but because the list ends with "and others" the country menu in the registration form is the final check. If New Zealand can be selected, you can create a Personal Area and a demo account.
Exness bases acceptance on where you permanently and lawfully live. If you live in New Zealand, register from New Zealand with a New Zealand proof of address. New Zealanders living abroad register from the country where they live.

NZD or USD: choosing the account currency
Your account currency is fixed when the account is created. Exness says conversions apply when you deposit or withdraw in a currency different from the account's, and that you can avoid conversion charges by depositing in the account currency.
- NZD account: fits a New Zealand bank account, so a deposit made in NZD involves no Exness conversion. Gold and most pairs are quoted in US dollars, so Exness converts profit and loss into NZD on each closed trade.
- USD account: natural for gold and the dollar pairs, but every move between NZD and USD adds a conversion.
- Funding in NZD into a USD account: your bank or payment provider converts at its own rate and may add a fee. Compare the all-in rate with the market rate.
NZD/USD and the NZD crosses are among the pairs local traders follow, and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Fed calendars affect them. Write down the NZD value of each deposit and withdrawal to see your real result. For tax questions, ask Inland Revenue or an adviser; we did not verify tax rules.
Deposits and withdrawals for New Zealand clients
The Help Center says first deposits are accepted only from accounts in the client's own name; third-party accounts are not accepted. It does not publish a method list by country. The Deposit tab in your Personal Area shows the methods available to you, with minimum and maximum limits and processing times.
Practical checks:
- Complete the economic profile and verification first, since they affect which methods are enabled.
- Read the minimum and the processing time before you press Continue.
- Your bank may add its own fee.
Withdrawal processing time can vary by payment method. See the deposit and withdrawal guide and withdrawal time.
Minimum deposit in New Zealand
| Account type | First-deposit rule |
|---|---|
| Standard Cent, Standard | Low, based on the payment method and the region of registration |
| Pro, Raw Spread, Zero | A minimum that depends on the region; at least USD 200 in some regions |
Every method also has its own minimum that applies to every deposit. If the account rule is USD 200 and the method minimum is USD 10, the first deposit must be at least USD 200. A small balance with a large position can hit stop out quickly (stop out guide). See the minimum deposit guide.
Is Exness legal in New Zealand? What the FMA says
Short facts:
- The Financial Service Providers Register help page says that "contracts for difference, margin contracts and rolling spot contracts" are within the derivatives covered by the Financial Markets Conduct Act, and that a derivatives issuer must hold an FMA licence if it makes a regulated offer of derivatives. Exemptions apply, for example for providers dealing only with wholesale investors.
- Anyone providing a financial service in New Zealand must also be listed on the Financial Service Providers Register. The register is run by the Companies Office and, as it says itself, does not by itself grant permission to operate.
- We could not search the FMA's warnings, and our public-source searches found no FMA notice that names Exness. That is not proof that none exists, so check the FMA warnings list and the register yourself. We make no claim about whether an Exness company is licensed in New Zealand.
- Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in the footer of your Personal Area. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See Exness regulation.
How these rules apply to a client of a foreign company is a legal question we cannot answer. A New Zealand lawyer can. Never give your password or a one-time code to anyone claiming to be Exness.

Market hours in New Zealand
On 30 October 2026 Exness published a schedule change for the end of US daylight saving time on 1 November: forex pairs now open on Sunday at 22:05 UTC and close on Friday at 21:59 UTC. Metals, energies and indices have their own hours. New Zealand is on daylight saving time (UTC+13) until April 2027.
| Event (forex pairs) | Auckland time (UTC+13) |
|---|---|
| Weekly open (Sunday 22:05 UTC) | Monday 11:05 |
| Weekly close (Friday 21:59 UTC) | Saturday 10:59 |
New Zealand is among the first places to start the trading week, yet by the time the market opens in Auckland on Monday it is already late morning. The offset changes to UTC+12 when New Zealand clocks go back in April, and the schedule moves again when US clocks change, so check the instrument page in your Personal Area. Spreads can vary and widen with market volatility, news and market open/close. See Exness trading hours.
Swap, leverage and risk
New Zealand is not on the swap-free country list, so swap rules follow your account and instrument (Islamic account guide). Maximum leverage depends on your equity and the entity serving you (leverage guide). Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains; read risk management.
Support and scams
Contact Exness only through your Personal Area, by live chat after login or a ticket in the support hub. The FMA publishes warnings about unlicensed offshore firms and impersonators, so treat unsolicited investment offers with caution. See customer support.
