Exness Maldives: Is It Legal? MVR, Swap-Free, Deposit, Demo

Short answer: The Maldives is not named in Exness's list of places it does not serve, so you can try choosing it at registration and open a free demo. The Help Center lists the Maldives among the countries whose clients are assigned swap-free status automatically, which means no swap is applied to orders held overnight. The Maldivian rufiyaa (MVR) is not an account currency, so most traders use USD. Maldivian authorities have warned about unlicensed investment and foreign-exchange offers, so read the legal section first.

Sources: the Exness Help Center (swap-free status, account currencies, first-time deposits, verification), checked November 1, 2026; the Exness website footer; the CMDA website (cmda.gov.mv). We did not open a Maldivian account, did not test deposits and could not search the CMDA's register of licensed entities.

Is Exness available in the Maldives?

Exness's footer lists the USA, Canada, Iran, North Korea, Europe, the UK, Russia and Belarus, "and others", as not served. The Maldives is not named, but the country menu in the registration form is the final check. If it appears, you can create a Personal Area and a demo.

Eligibility depends on where you live permanently, not on citizenship. A Maldivian studying or working abroad registers from the country of residence with proof of address from there. Registering from a country where you do not live is not something we recommend.

Swap-free status for Maldivian clients

This is the most distinctive point for the Maldives. The Help Center says clients registered from the listed countries get swap-free status automatically; no swap is applied to orders open overnight; the status applies to every trading account in your Personal Area; and all trading instruments on these accounts have zero or no swap.

To see your status, open Trading conditions under Exness benefits in your Personal Area and select Swap-Free. We did not test this from a Maldivian account. Whether trading suits your own beliefs is a personal matter that Exness's pages do not address; read the Islamic account guide for how the status works.

Rufiyaa and account currency

MVR is not on any account-currency list. The currency is fixed once chosen and conversion applies when your deposit or withdrawal currency differs.

  • USD: easiest to follow and widely used for gold and the dollar pairs.
  • Other listed options such as EUR, GBP or AED suit people who earn in those currencies.
  • Deposit in the account currency to avoid conversion charges, and note the rate each time you move money so you can measure your result in rufiyaa.

Deposits and withdrawals

The Help Center does not list methods by country. The Deposit tab shows what is available to you with limits and processing times. First deposits must come from an account in your own name; third-party accounts are not accepted. Complete the economic profile and verification so all methods are enabled. See deposit and withdrawal methods and withdrawal time; processing times can vary by method.

Minimum deposit: Standard and Standard Cent require a low amount set by method and region; Pro, Raw Spread and Zero have a regional minimum, at least USD 200 in some regions, and the method minimum applies to every deposit (minimum deposit guide).

  • The Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) was set up under the Securities Act (2/2006) and is responsible for regulating and developing the Maldives capital market. Its site lists licence categories such as dealers and investment advisers, and an Investor Alerts section.
  • Press reports say the CMDA issued a public advisory in November 2025 against unregistered securities and unlicensed investment services, and the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) warned in 2026 against foreign-exchange dealings with unlicensed persons. We saw these only in news coverage, not on the regulators' own pages, and neither is reported to name Exness.
  • We could not search the CMDA register and found no regulator statement about Exness, so we make no claim on its status in the Maldives. Exness operates through several group companies authorised by different financial regulators around the world. The company that serves you is named in your client agreement and in your Personal Area footer. Check the current list on Exness's regulation page and confirm it on the regulator's own register. See Exness regulation.

How Maldivian law treats a resident's account with an overseas broker is a legal question; ask a local lawyer.

Leverage, risk and support

Leverage depends on your equity and the serving entity (leverage guide) and magnifies losses (risk management). Swap-free does not remove other costs such as spread or commission (fees and spreads). Support is 24/7 in English, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu; contact Exness only from your Personal Area (customer support). Compare with Exness Pakistan if you want a view of another swap-free country.
